I was flipping through channels and came past Islam Channel and they was advertising some Islamic Gig, I was wondering what you guys think of this?
It so reminds me of what Rasool Allah :saw: said about his Nation immitating Christians and Jews, is this what our religion teaches us? What the hell has singing and dancing got to do with spirituality?
I’m not a perfect Muslim myself but I keep my sinful and spiritual life very seperate and watch what I do wrong, those people on there really pissed me off, I know I’m in no poition to judge other peoples Iman but it really makes me wonder about some of these people who become Muslim, I think maybe it was for the publicity and so they can make a business out of singing cheesy nasheeds or by messing the Deen of the naive sons and daughters of Islam by confusing them about what worship is and Haraam and Halaal. I listen to Nasheeds myself but not music ones.
I was fuming at the site of those silly bandonna wearing whores and idiot guys dancing like they’re are red necks from the bible belt.
Another thing what I read in an Urdu newspaper was they had this female “imam” lead a mixed gender Friday congregation in America.
Laantis, may Allah guide or Lanatfy these so called moderate “Muslims”.
I hope someone slaps u really hard then gives u 70 lashes for calling women whores, and I would just like to ask exactly what ur response to Allah will be when he asks u to prove it.
its people like YOU who give men a bad name.
Ranjhan, I see you in every thread calling all women whores and sluts. Women who wear pants, women who stay home and don't speak English, women who run websites and women who wear bandanas, women who work, they're all whores, in your words. Oh and add those who converted to Islam to that same list. And you claim to be Muslim. Mashallah.
^ I don't think that women tend to be more deviant than men. It's just that all the restrictions upon women are enforced more strictly by our family, society and culture, than the restrictions for men. We as men and women both have responsibilities and I do believe that women are equal to men in every which way; we just happen to have different responsibilities.
I didn’t mean literally, it was just because of the way they were dressed and the way they were acting, if it had been a Bhangra gig or something I would probably mind my own business but I hate it when these progressive “Muslim” morons mess Islam about, they think it’s a joke.
Generally I respect women whether she is Muslimah or Kaafirah but when they’re tarted up like that and trying to act all Islamic at the same time it just takes the piss, they deserve the label (if I ever act like a call-boy/escort you can call it me and I wont be offended).
I do respect women who respect themselves, just today after college I was helping with prep at my cousins restaurant and one of the FOB guys who works there was trying to touch up this gori girl (she’s a decent girl in a long-term relationship not slut like the ones who hang on street corners giving …j’s to strangers for fun), she kept telling him to stop but he carried on, pissed me off well bad so I gave him a few cracks on his hook nose, he wont dare tell anyone or he’ll get the sack. If girls have respect for their body I’ll respect them but if they not going to respect themselves then don’t expect any from me.

A true muslim respects women no matter what. Didn't the prophet show restrain and respect when that one woman threw garbage on him. I think later she even converted to Islam.
You guys have the right intention, but the wrong approach.

As for the topic you raised, I didn't see the show so I can't say much about it in terms of HOW it was done.
However, you have pop singers singing naats. Do you think this is a mockery of Islam, as well?
I agree, that we should probably not be trying to head into some Islamic Gospel path...those gospel people always irritate me. Too happy.
But I dont see why someone can't compose music to express love for God and Islam. In fact, if you look at it politically, its a strong medium by which to promote conversion and educate about the deen. Teens and young adults listen to music more than they listen to sermons anyway, so why not use it for a good purpose?
As for "dancing"...seems kinda weird. I think that's unnecessary.
Can be, I’ve seen women on PTV coated in makeup, looking hot as ever with half their head, neck and cleavage and arms uncovered singing “Ae Ishqe Nabi…”
Islam has already shown us ways of worship, showing our love for God and how to promote it, something tells me people who convert to Islam through music wont be the sincerest of Muslims, Islam should only be accepted through conviction that it is the only Haq, the truth, that is true Iman, Islam is not based on emotion.
The tune of the hymns and chants of the Kuffaar are more well composed and more pleasing to the Nafs than any musical cheesy Nasheed I’ve heard but those religions don’t seem to manage to hold onto any believers let alone educate and convert others, 95+ of ‘native’ British people would be agnostic or atheist and only Christian by name, my friends find church gay and boring despite their families going to all these Hip Hop and Rock type churches.
Music is pleasing to the Nafs and soothing to our animal instincts but it rusts the Qalb and weakens our spiritual energies which connect us to God, people who have introduced music into their religion eventually get so engrossed in this pleasure of the Nafs that they come off the real Ibaadaat (which is what really soothes and cleanses the heart and strengthens Imaan) and start finding it boring because their Qalb has become numb, this has happened with the people of the book, the Meccan pagans who were once followers of Abraham and Ishmael but eventually they turned prayer into mere singing and clapping in the Sacred Sanctuary, same has happened in parts of Pakistan where people will go to Qawwali gatherings with great devotion but they don’t know of Namaaz, Roza, Quraan, Zikr etc.
I know the Modern Munafiq Morons are not going to agree with me but music is Haraam in traditional Islam anyway, I’m not saying I don’t listen to it but at least keep sin from mixing into religion.
They were clapping their hands and doing that wave thing like they were in a Queen concert, looked worse than the people on the God Channel.
Yes cleavage, not very much but you could see a tiny bit. She was wearing a Choli with the bottom half of her arms showing and a neckline which was wayyy too big, she had a mesh like Kameez over it but still if you looked carefully enough.

Good luck proceeding in life with such narrow thinking.

Good luck to the MMM (Moden Munafiq Morons) proceeding in the afterlife with their 'progressive open minded' thinking.

You do have a point... my bad. Thanks for pointing that out.
