Islamic books

Whats a good one that you have read recently?

I have been looking for a good Islamic book for the longest time, haven’t found a good one yet other than tafseer. I find the other books to have a very serious offensive kinda tone, a lot of times they are written for non-believers so it doesn’t apply to me.

there are many good books, however i am wondering in which language. in urdu i can see many book in my shelf like:

urdu

Saar o Salook (3 writers) (imam khomani - shaheed mutahri - hussain tabatabi)
chahal Hadith (40 hadith) - imam khomani
adl' e Elahi (shaheed mutahri)
tahzeeb al islam (allama majllisi)
insaan e kamil (shaheed mutahir)
Islam ka Falsafa e Iqtesad (shaheed baqr usSadr )

english

Divine Justice (Shaheed Mutahri)

there are many other but these are good read books. a person from every sect should read these books.

Re: Islamic books

Disciplining the Soul and Breaking the Two Desires by Imam Al-Ghazali. Translated by Abdal Hakim Murad. I haven't finished reading it but it's the best book I've seen for training the nafs.

Re: Islamic books

One of the best books written in very recent times.

Purification of the Heart: Signs, Symptoms and Cures of the Spiritual Diseases of the Heart
By Sheikh Hamza Yusuf

Its written in a way that any person Muslim or Non-Muslim can read it and get benefit. I like the content and tone, its like a wise and knowledgeable friend is having a living room chat on very personal issues one may have in this materialistic society.

Very impressive way of communication on a rather very complicated and difficult subject.
