Jr. Loves Elmo books that I found at a discount store. He loves the illustrations and can identify pretty much everything in those books.
I did buy some Islamic books but they are more word heavy and less illustrations.
Pls share some Islamic books that have lots of pictures and others that are your and your kids’ favorites.

I also have a collection of goodword books for my son but we havent read them together yet.. he is only 8 months old, you know

your son is at a perfect age to read these books.. I used them when I was a teacher at Sunday School for 3-4 years old and boy they loved them!!! lots of pics, less words!

I think for younger kids these ones will be perfect with simple text and colourful illustrations.

I agree about the Hilmy books.I felt they were a little elaborate for my daughter at this age.
I liked the "what do you say’’ one better (I have forgotten the exact title of the book).But it was simple enough like ‘what do you say when you plan something,you say Inshallah’ and so on…
For those in the US,where do you guys get the Islamic books for kids?I got some for the first time at ICNA and felt they are a lil over priced as compared to other books for kids.

you are right...you would think they would sell for less at ICNA etc but such is not the case!!
I have ordered books online islamicbookstore.com and soundvision.com
It was an okay experience!
I think the publishers websites are probably selling books for less than other websites!!
I have tried looking for bookstores in NY etc but couldnt locate any.. I have heard peopple in Chicago have lots of bookstores for islamic books.. even the website soundvision.com, their bookstore is in Chicago!

They don't have lot of bookstores but there is one big bookstore on devon ave and has books for children as well.

Yeah I thought so too.I got some books and he told me the total was this much.I tried to use my non-existent bargaining skills,an he told me how they have no profit margin bla bla.I said ok.
My total was something with 25 cents.I told him let me get you change.He says 'Main aap ko pachees cent ka discount de deta hoon'.
I was like WOW...!!..:D

lol wohi tu.. I remember bargaining for Hamza Yusuf's DVD for purification of Hearts..he wont go down the $90.00 and I only had $80.00 left in cash so I didnt buy it.. guess what I ordered that same DVD on Hamza Yusuf's website for less than $80.00!!!!
Lusi.. what do I know.. thats all I had heard and good things about that sabri nihari and tahoora!!!:D
