We used to have a colony near our place of residence that was named Zia-ul-Haq colony, later changed to Nusrat Bhutto colony. We can tell why.

It is ridiculous for any govt to name a national landmark after their own leader

I agree with that one. Zia barely deserved a personal tombstone let lone an entire colony named for him.
