Volume 9, Book 92, Number 422:
Narrated Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri:
**The Prophet said, “You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure, you would follow them.” We said, “O Allah’s Apostle! (Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?” He said, “Whom else?” **

[7:167] **And when **they (jews) insolently rebelled against that which they had been forbidden, We said to them, 'Be ye apes despised.'
[62:6] **The likeness of those who were charged with the **Law of Torah (Book of Jews), but did not carry out its commandments, is as the likeness of an donkey carrying a load of books. Evil is the likeness of the people who reject the Signs of Allah. And Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.
[9:31] They **(Jews and christians) have taken their priest and their monks for lords besides Allah**. And so have they taken the Messiah, son of Mary. And they were not commanded but to worship the One God. There is no God but He. Holy is He far above what they associate with Him!
[9:34] **O ye who believe! surely, **many of the priest and the monks devour the wealth of men by false means and turn men away from the way of Allah. And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give to them the tidings of a painful punishment.
