It is one thing to ask Muslims to clean up their act and quite another to start labeling as terrorists and violent people. Maybe Verizon could have asked the question in another way...he may have gotten more positive responses.

Yes Mo3 they were muslims (at least that is what we are told). You care to answer for all the lives lost in Iraq due to non-existant WMDs? What do you call it..collateral damage. You cry over 3000 civilians try One million children dying because of malnourishment in Iraq post 91......yep and the famous notsobright(Albright's) non-challant respnse to the death of children. How do you explain US forces destroying the water and sanitation systems of Baghdad in 91...which directly contributed to deaths of untold thousands. Do you want me to go on or do you get the picture yet?
Now to Verizon's original question. IMHO, we need to stop blaming others for our ills. How can we do that? We should start with education and study of Islam. We should learn to disgree with violence. It all comes down to accepting our role/responsibility for our actions. Each and everyone of us can contribute to this effort. Once we stop looking for excuses for our apathey we will be half way there.

First of all verizon saab, I would have to inform you that you are quite ignorant about Islam if you think that all they do is kill and murder and so on and so forth. Like Ehsan said, if you want to concentrate on a few bad apples, thats up to you. But out of decency the least you can do is look at the bigger picture and the majority of Muslims.
Lets try first hand experience shall we. How many Muslims do you know personally (on gs or off gs) that go around killing or murdering others? Heck how many Muslims do you think do that - forget the rest just concentrate on the ones who have replied to you in this thread.
And if you wanna boo hoo over this, that is great, but do try to remember all the atrocious acts done to Muslims. List all those and we’ll be happy to comment on that.

MQ, he lives in the west, and luckily only a very small segment of Muslims living in the US go around killing people. But lets talk about Darfur – close to a million displaced, hundred of thousands butchered. In Pakistan, 2 mosque bombings a week (Tuesday and Friday – Thursday is NaaGHa). What he is saying is the impression that the world has about Muslims. You may approve of Mosque bombings where Shias are killed, but unfortunately the rest of the world does not.

No offence (ok I lie) But you americans reaaaaaaaaaally need to get over 9/11. Relatively speaking it wasn't that great a tradgedy. Poeple died and it was all well and sad, but really it is indeed time to move and wonder and fix whetever it was that made people want to kill themseves in the process of lashing out at a very very annoyingly self superior mongrel race of self-happy peoples.
Look at the many many many many millions of poeple who have died since 1940. 35 + genocides at the last count. I really and truely have not seen you warriors for justice that kincker-in-a-twisted about those.
So, I suggest that a little self reflection is in order - and whole load of priority making. Your lives are not more important than any body elses and by that bucket measure you should shut up about it now. Respect-fully.

Jokes aside. I think we need to have a spokesperson condemning violence and anything related to it. We also need to take out huge ads in almost every non-muslim newspaper and portray muslims as good law abiding citizens that have nothing to do with violence.
Muslims need to stop fighing shia-sunni idiocy, both groups need to make peace. This needs to be a coordinated effort across all the muslim world so I am not just talking Pakistan and two other countries.
Right now our spoksperson is the mob that goes pillaging. We need a person that comes out and condemns it. After the Al-Zarqawi fatwa sanctioning killings of other muslims, I didnt see another fatwa condemning the fatwa. We need a fatwa comittee and stop this fatwa madnes, only one authority can issue fatwa (pick one from al-azhar university) anyones needs a fatwa, post it on the fatwa forum at al-azhar. If it gets approved go kill rape whatever the f you had mind, if it doesnt get approved, bite your tongue and sit down.
Clerics need to be eradicated (like the poppy crop, just kill them shoo em off). No clerics no problems. Most of the pakistanis on the streets of Pindi, Lahore, Taxila, Islamabad, Mansehra, Abbotabad, haripur etc actually dont like clerics, but need to put up with it, becasue of being labeled as non-muslims. This is the power that the mullahs/clerics have. They can just declare someone a non-muslim just becasue he dis-agreeed with their sermon. So get rid of them. Lets label them non-muslims…

Being a Proud American Myself I have no hesitation at all agreeing with you on these issues, but does that give the right to a small pocket of people to go do what they did on 9/11, or to go kill KFC staff cause some Sunnis killed some Shias, or organise one's own wives RAPE for revenge, or Tie a Bomb around their waists and every second day kill Civilians and protectors of the law????? and be called SHAHIDS.

Italians were very happy when their intelligence chief was used for target practise by the Marines. They are a good shot. Too bad that case got a lot of publicity instead of bombed wedding processions and countless of innocents in occupied iraq.

Madhanee, untill we as american accept the responsibility for our actions we cannot ask the world to do the same. Everyone's life is equal, an american life is not superior to any other. If we kill in the name of democracy and phantom threats to national security we must accpet the fact that people are going to diagree and sometimes the same way we do.
