I was at sum talk not 2 long ago and the speaker mentioned how sum guy in America, sorry ive forgotten his name, said tht islam is the best religion in the world, yet muslims r the worst people in the world.
Do u agree with this?? I knw that many muslims today are sending the wrong message to non-muslims abt islam by their hideous actions, thus are not setting a good example at all. However this does reflet badly upon the religion itself.
People will say that if its such a gud religion then, for example, why r so many ppl who r so called muslims carrying out explosions and bombings,

I think you're confused. I heard something similar by Bernard Shaw...he said Islam is the best religion in the world, with the worst FOLLOWERS. Not worst people.. I could be wrong though...

Anyways, as for your question… every religion has its fair share of bad followers, its kinda unfair to single out Islam. I do agree with the fact that it is the best religion, the very meaning of Islam is peace and complete surrender to Allah. We are taught how to get the most out of life and how to attain qurbattanillallah… The reason Islam today is so messed up in its perception by others is because of the idiots who keep blowing themselves up and killing others all in the name of Jihad. The Quran I believe only allows violence in the form of self-defense…nowhere does it state that people should go around killing others for a free ticket to heaven. Thats not to say that everyone is messed up, just the select few who manipulate the meanings of the verses to suit their own needs. These people are not Muslims to begin with… and its totally wrong for them to tarnish the image of islam only to justify their own wrongdoings :no:

Muslims come in all shapes and sizes. Islam is no doubt the most complete religion. I think the unfortunate part is that we muslims are greatly influenced by cultures of other religions and get carried away. What is worse is that we justify our wrong doings and use Islam to defend ourselves.
Some muslims are very influential in our society. Example. My daughter's Qur'an teacher. A young lady educated in a madrassah as well as a college in USA. Has 2 kids. Spends 3 days a week teaching 20 kids how to read the Qur'an with tajweed. She doesn't used the "danda" method but instills love of Allah and Nabi (SalAllahu Alaihi Wassallam) in the kids so the kids can't wait to go for their next class. I would consider her a good muslim adding tremendous value to our society by creating some more good muslims, Insha'Allah.
Then there are the ones who are questionable in our eyes.

Yup, entirely true. Islam is a great religion and we had great intelligent muslims. Unfortunately muslims of late have been a bunch of illiterate, short tempered, good for nothing buffoons.

*Undoubtedly Islam is the best religion but let me assure you Muslims are the best nation! Good and bad exist every where and the whole lot can't be judged by taking only a few people as an example. *
Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran : **
**Kun'tum khaira uma'tin ukh'ree'jaat lin'naas'ay taa'moroona bil maroofay wa tan'haw'na un-ill munkaray wa tu'minoon'na bi'llah
Tum unn tammam umatt'oon main se behtar'een umatt ho jo duniya main (logon pe) zahir hu'een. Naiki ka hukum daite ho aur bura'ee se roktay ho aur Allah per eman rakh'te ho.
So in the light of these words how can the Muslims be the worse nation when Allah Almighty is declaring them to the best nation? Undoubtedly, Allah Almighty knows, what we don't!

@IA: We arent what we used to be. In the time of our Prophet (pbuh) muslims were muslims. Now most of us are hypocrits. In the end Allah knows best
Yes I agree, we aren't what we used to be in the time of our Prophet SAW but it's one of the attributes of the Holy Quran that it never goes out-dated and is true and applicable in all the times, no matter how much time has been passed since its revelation!
More over Allah Almighty knows the reasons, for which He has regarded the Muslim Ummah as the Best Ummah. So there remains no doubt, for me atleast, in being regarded as the Best Nation.

Why do we have to only mention about those people who carry out bombing and explosion when we talk about bad muslims?
I think those few suicide bombers are just angry and desperate but there are also many secular muslims who are damaging the image of Islam side by side with the radical muslims by their hypocritical actions.

Not really...except they have muslim names....there are radical people among Muslim nation but they're not in majority, the majority of muslims is secular and few muslims are traditional muslims.
