@icesoul....... thats not taliban mentality thats islamic mentality. and there's nothing wrong in having an islamic mentality. it's people like u who should get bashed up by the taliban. u can't just go around and label things according to ur own opinions.

the Prophet has warned us against keeping what we like and rejecting what we think we don't like in Islam. people in the past have been severely punished by Allah for this very reason. just because we do not understand the wisdom behind it does not mean we go around rejecting it..
as regard to the BF/GF issue, you should do your nikkahn, make it a low key event where both of you stay at your own parents house. then after uni you carry out the big celebration. explain to the parents that they do not wish to sin any longer..
