Re: Islam...Gay People and Hermaphrodites...
In Islam, there is explicit and implicit expression about the gender role and it can be readily interpreted that Islam is strictly against these things I'd refer you to Surah Al-Nisa in Quran. If you read any Tafseer of this Surah, you'll know about it in detail.
here are some verses from this Surah
"And wish not for the things in which Allah has made some of you to excel others. For men there is reward for what they have earned, (and likewise) for women there is reward for what they have earned.” (An-Nisa’:32)
“And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female.”
(An-Najm: 45)
“the male is not as the female”
Surat Al-Layl: 3
Ash-Shura: 49.
What do I know about the genetics of the peoblem. Strictly speaking, I have seen if we follow what Allah has asked us to do, these problems will not arise. One of the major risk factors for such disorders is advanced age of a lady when she has child. If she is more than 35 years, the rish for "non-disjunction increases significantly"......
Cousin marriages are also a big factor in such happenings. Marriages within the family leads to congregation of abnormal genes within a family..... we also do not pay attention to this..........
There are multiple life style abnormalities in our lives that lead to many genetic abnormailites. nevertheless, I don't deny the "sporadic/unfortunate" incidences. But looking at it as a whole, I see there have been many many life style factors of todays life that have lead to these problems.
Sometimes, we do not understand the simplicity of what Islam says but it in fact has profound impact on us....... It is sad that the new scientific discoveries are proving all that Islam told us 1400 years ago but there is nobody who is "correlating" these to how Islam already proved it......
