Islam failed to correct pakis and muslims

please remove "and" from the title ... Thank You

I'll take the liberty of broadening the scope of the topic to cover all Muslims rater than Pakistanis alone. It is an undisputed fact that corruption, nepotism, bribery and any other vices you can think of are rampant amongst the people of most Islamic countries.
It is common belief that people in the West are more honest, straight forward, hardworking and sincere as compared to Pakistanis and are naturally, as a logical consequence, leading better lives.
          This proves the following:

              1. Whether you are a Muslim or not, Allah cares about you since regardless of your religious belief, you are His creation and hence, His responsibility.
            2. The rewards he gives you are in direct proportion to your hard work and good deeds and are not at all related to your religion and beliefs.
            3. Allah helps them who help themselves. The problem with Muslims, the world over is that without doing anything, they always say, "Allah behtar karey ga". We must realize that if we don't work sincerely and honestly, Allah kabhi behtar nahein karey ga. Allah wants us to improve and become good human beings and he would never encourage us to get spoiled and laze around while He provides for us. As parents, we always tell our children to work hard with honesty and sincerity if they want to become something or somebody in life. Isn't it rather strange that on the contrary, as Muslims, we expect Allah to give us everything while we just wait and do nothing?
            4. We need to get out of the shell where we are waiting for a miracle to happen. Our salvation lies not in waiting for a miracle but in working for a miracle ourselves. People in the West have achieved miracles not by wishing for them but for working for them.
            5. Hard work alone will not get you what you want. There is a thing known as sincerity of purpose or good intention. Plain hard work, not accompanied by "naik neeyat" would not suffice. Just look around you and you'll find lot of people who have worked very hard for years but have still not achieved anything worthwhile in life. Making both ends meet is not the end of life; infact, it is just the opposite, real life starts beyond that point.
            6. Sometimes, it happens that although we have worked hard for something and are very sure we deserve it but we still fail. Why? In most cases, this happens because owing to weak faith in Allah and subsequently in ourselves, we try other means as well. That is what spoils the show. This is how it happens: You apply for a job you honestly believe is good for you and you are sure you deserve it on merit. You prepare a good CV and get ready for the interview. You pray to Allah for success but on the sidelines, you are desperately looking to find an acquaintance who knows the right people in the company and who can put in a word or two for you. This is where it all goes wrong. By trying to find a"Pawwa", you are affirming not just your lack of faith in Allah but also indirectly admitting that that there is something that a man can do better than Allah. This amounts to committing "shirk" and then you have the cheeks to expect Allah to listen to you and fulfill your desires?
The bottom line, my friends is, Islam is not bad, Muslims are. Our religion does not require improvement; it is already perfect; it is we who need to wake up from that deep, comatic slumber before it is too late. It's time we stopped blaming Islam for our wrong doings and thought about becoming better Muslims and of course, in the bargain, better human beings. One more thing, if we don't study Islam and blindly believe what other people say about our religion, it is we who are at fault, not they.

This post might appear slightly longish or off topic to some but that is what I felt I had to say.

and off course this one.

An Indian's view:

I have thought about the reason why pakistan is in a mess. Religion has no role in it. You might convert from one religion to other, but unless you personally improve as a society, it will not yield results.

Another reason is pakistan started with a loss in 1947, when it lost its religious minority. Class divide is a reality. At the time of partition, Hindus were the cream of the society along with few elite muslims. Most of the Elite Hindus left for India and the educated and elite muslims left for foreign lands.

Pakistan was left with a very tiny minority of elite muslims who do not have much voice and who are waiting for the first opportunity to migrate out of the country. The rest of the general population was illiterate and poor and were easy prey to religious brain washing.

Any country needs a true elite population, not the feudal lords masquerading as democratic leaders to develop.
