thank you, but I don't think you completely understood what I meant either. You said "islam the concept teaches..." Well islam is just a word like "courage." Courage can't teach you anything. What you mean is that the quran teaches these things. Just one of the things the quran teaches is peacefulness, but that is not what I would call the gist of the message. If I were to describe the quran's message in a nutshell, I would say it is about doing good deeds.
Those who believe in god do good things. But there are many people who believe in the Islamic god but they still do a lot of bad things. Which means that there is something wrong with the Islamic concept of god.
Those who do good works are the true believers.
Usually people judge others based on what they say/think their beliefs are, rather than looking at their actions which reflect their true, inner beliefs.
If someone believes in Islam and does bad things, and another person is an atheist yet always does the right thing, which one is the true believer? I'd say it's the latter.
I could tie in the concept of iman and qibla and all of that into this but I'm getting off topic so I'll stop.
Islam is a Deen, and not religion, there will be many religions.
Islam means to Surrender before Allah Allmighty,to submit before Highest Authority that is Allah Allmighty.
What you do with your friend's beliefs is none of my business. And quite frankly, i don't care. Read the forum rules. Whether you like it or not, you'll be required to adhere to them. And flaming or insulting another religion will land you disciplinary action. A civilized person would speak within the prescribed framework. Are you civilized enough? Or have your beliefs made you more of a intolerant person who has knee-jerk reactions just because what is being said is against his/her beliefs.
Majority of the world believes in one religion or another. Learn to deal with it.
