Re: Islam and "The DaVinci Code"
I've been reading the latest edition [2004] from the original writers upon whoms book Brown had based his novel, the writers were Baigent/Leigh/Lincoln and the book was The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail. The writers had answered some questions and added some fresher information about this topic, so I was curious.
But after reading it halfway up to now I haven't found anything really refreshing. I think it's a very fascinating topic, because myths and legends always are fascinating to read about.
They still have no clear proove of all these theories, and that is all that they are, just theories, not facts.
I was wondering though, this is also a silly question on my mind, if the person they think was still alive after the crucifiction, and never completely died, but just survived it, could that be the person whom Allah had changed in appearance to look like Isa (as), you know, when Isa (as) was raised up to heaven and the enemies took this other person whom they mistook for Isa (as)? Do you think all those stories about Isa (as) still being on earth and -astaghfiroellah- having had a wife and even children, could all these theories been based on the crucifiction of that other person who Allah changed into the appearance of Isa (as)?
Or perhaps this is also too far fetched...
Over the centuries, we've had many false theories which were believed to be true and accurate, in all fields, history, science etc. etc. Then later discoveries prooved them wrong. Perhaps somewhere in the future, there will be an Einstein of history to shed more light on them.
But despite all the errors in the theories, it always remains an interesting topic. I love about reading myths and legends.
