Islam and Terrorism

These days when we hear about a massive attack targeting civilians there is a decent chance that the attack was carried out by those who identify themselves as Muslim and acting in the name of the Prophet (PBUH) or Allah. Why do you think this is? We all know the vast majority of Muslims find such attacks abhorrent and are often themselves the victims of such attacks. The question is not meant as attack or slight against Islam. What is it within the religion that changes a person or attracts the kind of person willing to sacrifice innocent lives, including babies and children, and think that such acts are justified and Allah’s will?

Re: Islam and Terrorism

I admire the way of looking at things logically without any sentiment attached. This is the only way to reach the right root cause.

Westerners are good at it while we Muslims never seem to practice it. The difference is evident between the two of them.

But unfortunately in this case, the Westerners are following the sentimental way. It is evident in their support of Le Pen, BREXIT and Trump.

(Coming to the thread topic...) Yes, most terrorists turn out to be Muslims, but actually that it is too much of generalization. Because Islam is a big set of religious thoughts. It has several subsets which are very different in their interpretations of scripture and world-views.
If one looks at what subset of Islam these terrorists belonged to then it would be seen that they are mostly SAUDI inspired WAHHABI. I would say 99% of the time.

If this is the case then why do Westerners criticize the whole religion of Islam when the problem of terrorism is rooted in only one of its subset?

This is why I say that Westerners have given up the logical way of looking at this problem and instead are following the bigoted racist DONALD/BORIS way.

If Westerners could recognize in all honesty that root cause of terrorism is Saudi Wahhabi thinking rather than Islam, then they would go after people spreading this thinking with full force.
This is the only way this problem will stop.

But otherwise blaming ALL Muslims, banning ALL Muslims, scapegoating Pakistanis turned violent by Saudi Wahhabi thinking; will only make Westerners bigoted like Saudis instead of solving the problem
And in that case the collateral damage would be common non-Wahhabi Muslims, who are being wrongfully blamed by the world.

Re: Islam and Terrorism

Peace underthedome,

I wonder those who identify themselves as Muslim, are identified by "whom"?
