Islam and Drugs...

Just came across a few evidences which suggest that not only alcohol is haram but infact any intoxicant…

‘O you who believe! Intoxicants (al khamr) and gambling, sacrificing to stones and arrorw are an abomination of Satans handiwork. So avoid that in order that you my be successful. Satan wants only to excite emnity and hatred between you with intoxicants and gambling and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So, will you not then abstain? and obey Allah and the Messenger, and beware and be afraid of Allah. Then if you turn away you should know that it is our Messenger’s duty to convey the Message in the clearest way’ (Al Maidah 90-92)

‘Every Muskir (intoxicant) is Khamr and every Khamr is Haraam.’ (Sahih Muslim)

It is reported that a man from Yemen asked the Prophet Muhammad (saw) abaout a liquid they drank in their place and it was from corn called '‘Al mazr’ 'then the Prophet( saw) said ‘Does it cause one to get intoxicated?’. The man said ‘Yes’. Then the Prophet (saw) said ‘Everything that causes intoxication is prohibited’. (Sahih Muslim)

Aisha narrated that Allah’s Messenger (saw) was asked about Al Bit a liquor prepared from honey which the Yemenites used to drink. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said 'All drinks that intoxicate are unlawful (to drink) (Reported by Bikhari in the Book of Drinks/ Kitab al Ashribah)

‘What intoxicates in large quantities is also Haraam in small quantities’ (Reported by Abu Dawud)
