The other day AZ, Flamezz, & I were taking this Islaamic quiz and it was fun! Alahamdulillah, it refreshes the things we learned from all those bedtime and naptime stories. So Flamezz sugessted that I put up a trivia post and here it is! I’m going to post some trivia daily, then at the end of the week, I’ll post the answers. Please do not post answers to this thread, we want everyone to have a fair chance to remember the answers on their own. If anyone, doesn’t know, the answers will be given at the end of the week anyways insha’Allah.

It was not fortune telling. The particular sect which that monk belonged to believed that another prophet would be sent. When Mohammed (SAWS) told the monk about his experience with Jibraeel, the monk recognised the predicted signs of prophethood and told Mohammed (SAWS) that he was a prophet of God.

'When the Messenger of Allah (SWT) was twelve years old, he went with his uncle Abu Talib on a business journey to Syria. When they reached Busra (which was part of Syria, is the vicinity of Howran under the Roman domain) they met a monk called Bahira (his real name was Georges), who showed great kindness, and entertained them lavishly. He had never been in the habit of receiving or entertaining them before. He readily enough recognized the Prophet (SAW) and said while taking his hand: "This is the master of all humans. Allah will send him with a Message which will be a mercy to all beings." Abu Talib asked: "How do you know that?" He replied: "When you appeared from the direction of 'Aqabah, all stones and trees prostrated themselves, which they never do except for a Prophet. I can recognize him also by the seal of Prophethood which is below his shoulder, like an apple. We have got to learn this from our books." He also asked Abu Talib to send the boy back to Makkah and not to take him to Syria for fear of the Jews. Abu Talib obeyed and sent him back to Makkah with some of his men servants.' [1]

Most of the guppies answered Masjid-e-Aqsa, the fact is the Aqsa Mosque was built after the demise of Holy Prophet(sa), during the tenure of Hadhrat Umar(ra).
Sadiaa-
you’re absolutely right, its much more fun if people write their responses, I was just afraid there’d by 85 responses for each day but that seems a bit far fetched!
Original Qiblah- lol, I was just looking for the city of Jerusalam but it is actually Bait-ul-Muqadas(The Dome of the Rock)as **RD **pointed out.
Suratul Baqarah
The present Qiblah is the Ka’bah > Masjid-Al-haram >Makkah
Makkah
Bahira (Baheera)Coco Its not fortunetelling, the Jewish & Christian Scriptures foretold of the last Prophet and they were given signs to identify. Thanks Sadiaa for the story, I’ll post (insha’Allah)the one I know which talks about the specific signs.

Lets have a 'method to this madness' why don't we go chronologically.
Allaah offered the responsibility of free will to the universe, all animate & inanimate things declined but something accepted it. What is this "something"?
The Angels bowed to Adam (Alayhis Salaam) but who refused & why?
Adam (AS) & Huwwah lived blissfully in the Garden. What was the one law that Allaah gave them?
What is Islaam's view about who was responsible for falling out of Allaah's graces which resulted in their removal from the Garden?

Shaitan (?)
Iblis, Because he said i am superior to Adam (Alaayhis Salam)as i have been worshipping u long before he started. (and the fact that Adam (Alaayhis Salam) was made of claY???))
11.A tree that Allah forbid Adam & Eve to eat fruit of.
12.Islaam view is that Iblis mislead them and tempted them to eat the fruit. (so both, Adam n Eve were responsible. (?))
--Do correct me. Its just out of memory...
JazakAllah
Once the Blessed Prophet- Salallahu alayhi wasallam-was talking about his Mi'raj (trip to Jannah--Paradise). He said that when he was there in Jannah, he heard the sound of footsteps ahead of him.
When he asked his guide about them he was told, "It is Bilal. Tell him" After telling Bilal (Radhiallaahu Anahu) about this news, the Blessed Prophet- Salallahu alayhi wasallam-asked Bilal, "tell me how you got to enter Jannah before me?"
Bilal (Radhiallaahu Anahu) thought for a moment and replied, "O Messenger of Allaah, maybe its because I always want to be clean. Whenever I think I'm going to lose my wudu, I immediately go and make it over. When I do, I always want to thank Allaah, the exalted, and I offer a thanksgiving salah of two Rak'as."
that's how he got to Jannah (heaven) even before the Blessed Prophet- Salallahu alayhi wasallam.
I got this excerpt out of a text book "What Islam is all About" by Yahiya Emerick.

Iblees/Shaitaan
The Angels bowed to Adam (Alayhis Salaam) but who refused & why?
Iblees/Shaitaan refused b/c because he thought he's superior to Adam (AS) since Iblees was made from fire and Adam (AS) from earth.
Adam (AS) & Huwwah lived blissfully in the Garden. What was the one law that Allaah gave them?
Not to eat from a particular tree
What is Islaam's view about who was responsible for falling out of Allaah's graces which resulted in their removal from the Garden?
Adam & Hawwa (AS) b/c they disobey Allah H(SWT), but later on they repented and were forgiven.
The al aqsa mosque was built by the King who commemorated the ascending of Prophet(PBUH) to the heavens by buildind a mosque. The dome of the rock on the other hand is the place where the old temple once stood around. so to say our old qibla is the alaqsa mosque is wrong...

Actually the further details of the story also relate to the fact that when the Jews of Syria were informed of the forecoming of a Prophet, they were told that he would be from Arabia, so they sent a delegation of their soothsayers and the famous Bahira about to the route of the caravans that used to come from Arabia as their soothsayers told them that the signs of the heavens indicated an immense presence coming that way that day. The point where the caravans used to have a break was an oasis that was of a christian.Once there, when the caravan in which the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as a young boy was also travelling, the group of the jews/christians saw each and every person on the caravan and asked from the leader of the caravan as to if there was anyone else besides them, to which the leader of the caravan replied No, at this Bahira told them that there must be someone else besides them as the sign of the stars and the earth indicated an immense progress amongst them. To this the leader of the caravan, which was the Uncle of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), told them that the only person not with them at that moment was his nephew whom he had ordered to stay behind with the goods and the camels. Bahira then went out to see this young boy and immediately recognized him as the Holy Prophet(PBUH) to come, as all the indications in the bible and the signs of the heavens and the earth clearly indicated so. He therefore told his uncle to take care of him and not take him to Syria where the Jews and the Christians were waiting......
