Are you saying there are certain problematic aspects of Islam which muslims need to stop being apologetic for, and accept as problematic? Otherwise there will always be extremist groups like ISIS who will use such aspects to commit atrocities? And only by acknowledging that terrorists are inspired by parts of Islamic theology and by remedying those parts can we defeat them.
Are you saying such verses are problematic in any context?
But the verse is very clear, the punishment for transgressors is to be exiled from the land, so how can it be problematic?
Also even if Sahaabah took captive of wars as slaves and had sex with them after having disposed of the husbands and brothers of those women, I’m pretty sure those women would consent to having sex with the Sahaabah, because they were given status of wives, and sometimes those women were sold between Sahaabah, but they were still wives.
How on earth can ISIS draw inspiration from such events?
