very true DS..a few comments..there is no mention of Asghar Khans petition on the ISI and the Mehran bank scandal as far as the ISIs role in manufacturing the IJI. Also the Taliban were not made by the ISI..till quite late they still backed Hekmatyar..it was more of the IB under Naseerullah Babar with the help of the deoband groups under Fazlur Rehman who were rersponsible for that and the breaking of the JI's influence in Afghanistan.

Can you give me other info about the ISI which I should research and include in this page. I don't have a very broad knowledge about the ISI. I basically read a couple of books and decided to spruce up the ISI page on wikipedia. If you can give me a list of stuff to include or research for the page. It would be most helpful. Not just Zakk, but everyone who has any other info about ISI, you are most welcome to post it here.:)

The Mehran bank deal is quite widely known..http://www.ghazali.net/book1/Chapter11a/body_page_4.html ..Air Marshal Asghar Khans petition on the role of the ISI in politics has remained unheeded and is mentioned in detail in his recent book..so references should be availble there the IB-ISI tug of war was settled when Leghari sacked BB in 1996 and the ISI went after the IB all guns blazing..it’s been mentioned in bits by Ahmad Rashid in his books (although he is no fan of the ISI so don’t take what he writes as the definitive account..bear trap one of mad scientists fav books is also a good read..the ISI’s political cells involvement in Operation midnight Jackals in the late 80’s is important as well..more recent;y the formation of the PML like minded is largely believed to be the ISI’s handiwork its been mentioned in news accounts.

Guys are any of you logging in from Pakistan?
I think Wikipedia is being blocked at most hours of the day lately in Pakistan. Probabaly due to the cartoons...?
