Every time i do it i dont really see a dream and am still confused
Is what happens after a istikhara what ever supposed to happen?
For people who made a decision off istikhara how did you know?

Asalaamu Alaikum, it is not always necessary to see a dream. If you keep within the boundaries of deen and do not transgress and put your hopes in Allah after making Isthikhara and putting your trust in him then whatever happens after that is what is meant to be.
Remember ask of Allah in the third portion of the night after Tahajjud prayer sincerely and whatever is best for you will happen inshaAllah.

I dont think i have done anything majorly haram and am fairly okay does that mean staying within boundries of religion
So its not even based on what you feel but more so what happen?
Reading tahajud and making dua you mean? What if you have to make up for missed prayers will tahajud stil count?

Staying within the boundaries of deen meaning to stay away from the major sins and that which transgresses the limits of our deen. Also the isthikhara cannot be for something that is not permissible. Yes once you have made isthikhara and asked of Allah then continue to do so and put your trust and hope in him and whatever is best for you will happen inshaAllah.
If you have prayers to make up then you can still pray Sunnah and Nawafil prayers like Tahajjud.
And Allah knows best in all matters

If you have certain doubt about something which you intend to do, you do istikhara. Your doubts will be gone and the heart will be very calm.
