ishq:Music is Okay

If music helps a muslim to think about islam
and Allah, music is allowed.Trust me.If i give you the wrong advice i will be held responsible on judgement day for your whatever.Music is only haraam when for example love songs help make you think about evil. For those who cant control desires stop listening to music.

If you can prove to me from any place in the Qur'aan, that Allaah made Music lawful, or bring forth any authentic narration where the Prophet(SAW) acknowledged the significance of music or highlighted its benefit 'as long as it allows you to think about Islaam', thus implementing it into Islaam, then i will believe you.

However, if your claims cannot be supported by the Qur'aan or the Sunnah, then we must throw such innovations against the wall, because we have been warned against introducing something new into it the Deen of Allaah which was not a part of Islaam during the time of the Prophet(SAW) and his Companions(RAA), as Allaah(SWT) states in the Qur'aan :'Today I have completed my favour upon you, and have chosen Islaam as your Religion.'

Also, the Prophet(SAW) said that every newly invented matter into the religion is misguidance, and every misguidance is going astray, and every going astray is in the Hell Fire.

This clarifies that Islaam is complete. Then surely we cannot bring a newly invented matter into the deen which was not practiced by the Messenger of Allaah(SAW), as it will clearly be rejected.

... And Allaah Knows Best

May Allaah Guide us All.

Dajjal will attract people with his music.

I agree with Hayyan 100%. I am alhamdulilah a practicing Muslim. Music, as described by Hayyan is permitted. Islam is not as closed minded as you make it sound brother Qaasim.

However, the movies are prohibited in Islam. Take any america movie for example, the content is against the teaching of Islam and theerefore, to watch it is also forbidden. Same goes for any Indian or pakisatni movie.

Movies are a Bigger Fitnah then Music, in any society that we live in today.

wa'salaam.

Assalam O Alaikum

Brother Homid, Music is not allowed in Islam and i have provided the related reference in my other post "Music is Haram".

Brother, its not us who are the judges to decide what is haram and what is not. But when you get an evidence from Quran and Sunnah then our debate is unnecessary and wrong.

If it is made Haram by Prophet SAW then it is Haram, as simple as that.
