I watch all these youtube makeup videos and women look nothing like themselves when they are done putting on the makeup. I feel it is deceitful especially if it’s for a date or rishtas hunting. What do you guys and girls think?

Does it give you a different body type altogether? Unleas you are stuffing your underwear to make it look like you have amazing assets, I don’t really think so.

Did you mean to quote iconoclast? personally, I don’t think it is deceitful to wear spanx. It doesn’t exactly turn an apple shape into an hourglass. Or does it?

Some of the youtubers are pretty scary, like it’s literally two different faces. I would be scared as a guy if I fell for a girl who used that amount of makeup

The makeup shouldn't be trowelled on so that when you take it off, you're a whole other person.
That being said, who was that girl with the really bad cystic acne - she posted herself with and without makeup. You can kind of understand her and others in the same boat (scars, burns, birthmarks) using the makeup to cover up their skin and I don't think they're being deceitful.
For them makeup is a tool to combat a problem - a treatment almost. It would be great to say remain barefaced and we should all be supportive, but unless you're in their shoes, dealing with a skin condition - I can understand using makeup.

The scariest ones are the contour experts....they can make all the double chins and chubby cheeks disappear.

On certain body types Spanx can do wonders, makes an aweful lot of difference. Though it will not turn a cow into bikini model, same goes for makeup doesn't really turn everyone into Diana, works very well for some and little for others.

sehrysh i dont think theorist meant girls who need to cover up acne but more like completely changing the course of their face shape by contouring highlighting limelighting brow dipping sab kuch kar'ing..

Yes, I have felt that it's deceptive....especially when some girls carve out cheekbones that otherwise didn't exist....or slim down their noses more than Latoya Jackson...or glue on a pair of exaggerated eyelashes that you won't even find on dolls. :/

I never even put on a lipstick because then I look in the mirror and feel so unlike myself lol. Personally, I put on make up only to hide imperfections (marks, dark circles etc), and to add a glow to my face.
So yes I think its very deceitful and I feel for the guys who got this dhoka lol.

I do find it deceitful when I see women change their facial features, shapes of their eyes, nose, cheeks, etc.
Playing up is different from actually drawing in a different face.

So many of our bridal makeup artists do the same thing.. Most of the traditionally made up brides I see literally look like a completely different person but that's usually not seen as a negative thing..
Can't say contouring is more deceitful than using foundation several shades too light and so on imo.. just we're more used to one than the other..

It's not my fault people think I have naturally sparkly eyelids, red shiny lips and perfect blemish free skin.

Yes, that is what I meant. I think it's fine if you do it once in a while but when a girl goes overboard with makeup for a date or rishta meeting, it is deceptive. Everyone wants to look pretty and confident so I am not against dolling up but when you do it everyday, it can lead to identity issues. That's unhealthy because now you are embarrassed to go in public without makeup.
