Is walking good or not?

So guys I have been told that running is good for your health but what about walking is it as good as running or is it at good at all? Because I walk a lot and I dont see any difference.

Re: Is walking good or not?

Well I think its a bit exaggeration if we say running is 'as good' as walking as I personally think running is the best workout other than swimming. However that doesnt mean walking is not important. Walking is very good for health and even as you say you dont see the difference I can guarantee there is a lot shaping up in your body and you would notice that once you stop walking (which u shouldnt).

I read a link that had comparison between walking and running. Will try to search.

Walking is good if it could get your heart rate up. The more you walk the better it would be. It still burns calories but not as much as running.

Re: Is walking good or not?

I think a lot depends on the condition you are walking in. Usually empty stomach walking helps more. And then your pace should be moderate. If not too fast, not too slow either.

So does running burn more calories than walking? Well, yes and no.
