not common but may be women get the infection more than men. It's common amongst pregnant women and it can be risky !
dr usually gives an antibiotic course (5 days) and it's enough to cure it completely.
otherwise drink plenty of water , barley water , have fruits with high water content etc.

I got it 3 times when I was expecting. Dr did not advise me to take rest , she just gave me 5 days course of anti biotic that too I was getting fever otherwise I don't think she would have given it.
I think it most common source of getting such infection is common wash room / toilets.

Yes very common. Very common in women sexually active. I got it one time and its very painful. It kills you going to the bathroom. Very important to get antibiotics. If not treated properly or right it can be an issue. Oh and drinking plenty of water is what doctors tell.

yup it is more common in women due to the female anatomy.
Its really common in newly married/sexually active women!
advice.....lots and lots of water, cranberry juice, washing properly after going for a number 2 and also going for a wee after sex.
oh and no u dont need to take rest but u must finish course of antibotics
This was an exam question in my recent exam...brings back bad memories!

it is very common with gals/women, i had one last week and i am still revcovering, had antibiotix but that wasnt enough so i had a load of water, which wasnt easy but got through it.
i had one for every month in the 6 months leading up 2010 that was really horrible :(

indeed it is very common in women...especially married women.
make sure you pee after intercourse.
and ALWAYS wipe yourself from front to back. if you do it the other way around, bacteria from your number two area will get into your urinary tract and cause infection.

very common - Usually a course of antibiotics is given.. make sure you drink lots of water and cranberry juice.

i had just once in my lifetime n it was terrible............. severe pain wth high fever
i was given antibotic for 5 days n allahumdullah till now i m fne..............
drink plenty of water n special care for cleanliness to avoid it
also my doc advise me to use dettol for washing n thn u vl never have infection..........
