So last weekend we went to a birthday party where they had a person come out who played a lot of gymbroee type games. she was a preschool teacher and started with circle time. My son who has been in daycare for about 6 months, started to cry and want nothing to do with the “teacher.” he started to cry and say no school, no circle time and no school.
Now i am worried that he isn’t happy at school, even though he is very happy when dropped off and picked up. He always confirms by “no school today,” on the weekends.
Is this normal? or should i be worried about the school?
I am considering taking him to gymbroee over the weekends and maybe this way he will see a teacher/school in a good way.
Muzna i always ask how is he doing, if he is adjusted well, and if he participates, they always say he is doing very well. I pick him up in the evening and he is fine when i get there. We sit down and actually finish the activity he is doing. He is never rushing to leave.
^ true, but why be soo scared. Since he has been going to a school for almost 6 months and with a nanny before that, he is very much use to be with a teacher.

Because it was the weekend and he wasn't prepared. Also because this was a new teacher/stranger (I assume). Some kids really need routine, familiarity, or advance notice to feel comfortable, otherwise they'll have meltdowns. I don't know if that's the issue here, but it seems very possible.
^ thank you. I agree with you and that's what i was thinking as well. It was the weekend and he didn't want a teacher/school. I asked because i wanted to see what others thought of the situation and should i be alarmed.
