Even though you are calling it a Hypothetical situation but you way of writing suggests me that you are planning to do it in your office :P
Re: Is this morally wrong?
This is not a good idea. Remember to separate your personal feelings and work. Being fair and honest is the way to go at work, believe me, people will notice and more importantly you'll be doing the right thing. Right now it sounds like you want to work with the girl because she “looks good,” well my friend, you’re not a judge on Miss Universe and you should be a professional about it.
A few other points:
Returning to the girl, if you like her enough, talk to her on your own time.
Also, you will notice a few women on this forum are messed up in the head, so expect more name calling and catty responses. I am not going to hate on you or judge you for being honest, just do the right thing.
I agree. I am totally for fairness in the workplace.
The picture I was trying to paint was of a HYPOTHETICAL scenario, where the guy and girl are equal in every perspective (ofcourse other than gender). The guy can be easily assigned to another equally important project. In that particular scenario, morally, would it be wrong to swap them out.
Re: Is this morally wrong?
You’re actually probably the only one who understood what the thread was about. ![]()
You are def smarter than I used to give you credit for.

Yayy!!! I won't mind at all. I'll just ahng-out/work for free to be around that company ;)
Re: Is this morally wrong?
Well, yes, it is wrong.
You are at least partially seeing the woman as an "eye-candy", even if you accept that she's just as intelligent as the guy. Your REASON for including her is her looks, not her innate ability. This is called objectification.

Ok, how about the opposite? If hypothetically she's not included because of being "eye candy" and cause of distraction, wouldn't that be discriminatory as well? The guy would get an unfair advantage just being a guy......
Re: Is this morally wrong?
Yeah, that's discrimination. Include her because she can do a good job, or exclude her if she can't.
Fire starter, twisted fire starter, someone call 911!
Re: Is this morally wrong?
Don't poop where you eat.
And dont eat where you poop!!! :)
Re: Is this morally wrong?
Yeah, that's discrimination. Include her because she can do a good job, or exclude her if she can't.
So its discurimination if she is included because of her good lucks. And its also discrimination if shes not included because of distraction caused by her good lucks.
WTF. Make up your mind.
Re: Is this morally wrong?
Swap him and then get on ja-e-namaz and pray that your boss does not have same idea about you.
Re: Is this morally wrong?
Hypothetical situation.
You are on a project and get a junior member (some guy) assigned to your team. That guy can be swapped out at your discretion with a quite attractive female team member. Would it be morally wrong to do the swap? Not that you have any ideas of an affair at work but ya know the girl would just be easy on the eyes during stressful times of the project.
Keep in mind, the guy will easily be absorbed on some other equally important project. Both are of the same race, age and work ethic.
Tharkiii !
