Is this hadith right?

I read a hadith narrated from ‘Abd-Allah ibn Mas’ood… according to which the Prophet (SAW) said:

“Twelve rak’ahs that you pray by night or by day, and recite the tashahhud between each two rakahs. When you say the tashahhud in the last prayer, then praise Allah and send blessings upon the Prophet (PBUH), then prostrate and recite the Opening of the Book (Sura Fatiha) 7 times whilst prostrating, and say, ‘Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer (There is no god but Allaah alone, with no partner or associate; to Him belongs all sovereignty and to Him be praise, and He is Able to do all things),’ ten times. Then say, ‘O Allaah, I ask you by the glory of Your Throne, and by virtue of the mercy of Your Book, and by Your greatest name and Your glory and Your perfect words,’ then ask Him for whatever you need. Then raise your head and say the tasleem to your right and your left. And do not teach it to the foolish for they may ask (for foolish things) and have their prayer answered.” …

Is this correct???

Re: Is this hadith right?

More importantly, what does your mind say to this sis Sabriya? Especially in light of the verse I quoted as an answer to your topic regarding "Nazar".

Re: Is this hadith right?

I’ll be verryyy honest, I don’t really even have anything more than the basic knowledge of Islam unfortunately… so I dont know what to make of it :bummer:

This verse hasnt anything to do with nazar

Re: Is this hadith right?

Dear sister, I asked for your VERYYY HONEST opinion on your question in this thread, based on the QURANIC verse I quoted in my reply to your topic "Nazar"... think again :)

Re: Is this hadith right?

Most surely! God will NEVER change the condition of a people UNTIL they change it THEMSELVES!

this quote? I still dont understand :(

Re: Is this hadith right?

And do not teach it to the foolish for they may ask (for foolish things) and have their prayer answered.” ........

Some of the things that Allah Tallah does , cannot be understood at that time , but it plays into the whole picture. As I understand, we should pray for our Behtari not for wat we think will suffice for the moment only:)

Re: Is this hadith right?

This is not one of them... He invites you to think.

Re: Is this hadith right?

Sab, is this hadith referenced? So far I have not come across it in all the ahadith I have read.

Re: Is this hadith right?

al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb

Re: Is this hadith right?

I suppose it's da'eef...

Re: Is this hadith right?

Ask a scholar.

Peace Sabriya786

I think there is a bit of interpolation required, because the Arabic is a loaded language it gives more than the direct translation can possibly give.

Most surely! God will NEVER change the condition of a people UNTIL they (want and work for that) change THEMSELVES!

The same message lies in the essence of natural science. Does the knife cut? No Allah (SWT) cuts, the knife only exists and this it does because Allah (SWT) sustains it. Does this make sense?

People who make a change in their attitudes then Allah (SWT) will make that change manifest for them in the positive results we all wish to see, that is what it means.

Re: Is this hadith right?

there are 2 kinds of Yakeen
ain-ul-yakeen
haq-ul-yakeen
one must believe in the Maker, and then pray to the Maker in all honesty.
It is but known only to the Maker, whether it will grant what you prayed for.
hope is, that in placing trust in Allah, you will make the prayer with all your honesty and in humbleness and gratitude, and Allah will hear you, inshallah.
