In my humble opinion, he has the right to tell her what to wear outside the house but he does not the right to tell her what to wear inside the house.
Let?s assume its real. Then it is just another example of how guys in long term relationships with a woman having such line of thinking become most miserable. The guy genuinely cares for her and is trying to come up with lame excuses to explain his feelings and is failing. Meanwhile she can ask her male trainer who will see no problem with that outfit and will totally support her right to bare. Reminds me of this.
