Re: Is this dress worth it?
There is a huge difference in the amount of work between the formal and bridal version.
I think both are overpriced. The formal, slightly because the design (cut and stuff) is nothing difficult and the kaam is very light. The formal moreso. But I don't understand why people find this strange. If you are ordering from a legitimate designer, you are paying for the name and for their unique design, so obviously it is going to be a lot more than the making cost of the outfit.
I think, in the right colours with a bridal duputta, it could look fine. It's similar to one of Rani Emaan's designs.
If you don't want to pay 3lakh, then you could use your cousins as a template for a copy. If a kaarigaar has the original in front of him, it's easy to copy the style, then you just need to get more work done. I still think it will cost you 1.5-2 lakh if you go for really high quality, intricate kaam.
Re: Is this dress worth it?
Ur right. The designer herself will not go below 2.5 lakh
A great copy can be made within 1.5-2 lakhs if there is someone she can trust to do a better job

Re: Is this dress worth it?
Actually i want it as a party outfit for my brothers wedding...thats why i wonder if its worth 65 000 or not..
Re: Is this dress worth it?
ok. i live in karachi and i have never head of this Shazia designer. The dress in the picture is nice and has alot more work than the party version (the party version is very badly done btw). However, teh dress is so not worth 300,000. you can find a great known designer to do a sligthly lighter bridal in that amount of work. you can easily find something similar to this at nicer boutiques at tariq road in karachi for abt half the price. you just need to look around. going to a nice boutique and a less known designer is the same thing. boutiques will probably do a better job and as they have more clientele and have experiences of regularly churning out wedding dresses whereas, small time designers dont. you can easily get a much nicer dress in half the price. my suggestion is to keep looking around.

It's not worth it, no. You can easily get this copied, price range depends on how intricate the work is.
There are home based designers that can make you heavier/nicer stuff than this for 65,000.
The guy I make my stuff from made a stunning engagement dress (anarkali style) with intricate kaam and swarovski's and it was slightly less than this price. It had a wide border around the bottom of the dress, light work on the rest of the skirt part, a fully worked bodice and thin (1.5-2") fully worked border around the duputta.
Re: Is this dress worth it?
