Is this better way of saying NO

(Plz move if in the wrong forum)

I have just came back from Dubai, where I was with an oil company for my final project.

I am not offered a job formally by that company, but in the letter they have given mentioned that they want me to join the company some time in future.

I am just wondering that do they dont want to give job to me or its becuz that I have offer another company here in UK where I am interested to attend one months training.

My Dubai boss said before leaving that before I take up a job with this UK company let him know.

I am more confuse is that there are some vacancies in an Australian company. this Australian company want some joint venture with the company i did project with. I was made to stay longer becuz this company was comig for a meeting and management wanted me there. So much so that on the eve of meeting the Chief Executive came to me and said, dont mention urself as student, u r Jr. Geophysicist.

For me whole picture is quite complex and confusing.

Re: Is this better way of saying NO

well... i dont know if i understand u correctly the story seemed somewhat complicated. but i can tell u this...WOW! from all the offers u have clearly the ball is in your court! you get to decide..you are the boss in control.

howver, here's a polite way to say no that i often use:

Thank you for your offer. I am incredibly humbled that you would pick me. While I would like to have worked for your company, unfortunately i recently accepted another position. However, kindly notify me of any opening in the future, in the event that I am available to accept a position with you then.

sincerely;

Hey bud I am working for oil industry for 14 years. most of it in Abu dhabi. My advice call the comapny in Dubai let them know what you are getting, give him a time frame to respond back to you for counter offer. enjoy it man while the industry is on boom. Good luck for your future. BTW which company you applied for. I work for wellhead manufacturers.

Re: Is this better way of saying NO

i have recently gone thru a similar case - you not being clear what the curerent employee want ofyou. i will advise that keeep your own options open, and it wont hurt to ask what ever company you decide to consider as a back up prospective employer, to keep you in view, when new posts become open.
no communication or choppy confusing communication will get you more confused and you mightt give up your true good option pre maturely.

take nothing personal, but make sure u are not being underminded, in Dubai or over seas.
your indicated interest will get them to indicate their interest in you working there.

best,

Dushi
