I thought I’d ask you fashionistas about a new trend in bridal wear. I’ve seen a couple of bridal lengha’s where the dupatta is in a completely different color, (the color of the dupatta is not even found in the shirt or lengha). Is this a new trend or is it an old trend and I’m only discovering it now? I’ve posted two examples of this.
I've seen a few examples of this as well. I think some colors work out really well (your 2nd example) but some, like the 1st example, didn't seem to work for me.
The first outfit is beautiful but still needs to be "pulled in" together with accents I think. it throws you off a bit but as is it looks nice as well.
The second picture of yours is also gorgeous but has those accents I am talking about. For instance, the dupatta is pink but the shirt also has pink piping on the neckline so it kind of pulls it together for a complete look.
I dont think this is a new trend but if you are thinking of doing something along these lines, the second picture is very elegant and classy.
I kind of like it if it has same kam on shirt /lehnga and on dupata .I am thinking of getting one dress made like this. you can always get piping done with same colour, wear jewellery in matching/contracts .looks nice :)
It is an old trend. The design of HSY that you have posted is from 2006, could be even 2005.
The thing with a different color dupatta is, that the color is somewhere in the suit as well... Could be beads, stones, embroidery, or even in the shade of the fabric.
Thought it is an old trend, people still wear it... so don't focus on new/old rather be focused on what you like and what suits you most.
