This is not the question! The question is how come a person who is lesser in value, poorer in knowledge and the one who can make mistakes and error can be Khalifa in the presence of a person who is higher in value(more pious); rich in knowledge (as he claimed and proved) and the one who made no errors (because Allah and his prophet (PBUH) guaranteed it)?
These are things to be considered as standard while choosing a Khalifa for the majority of Muslims; despite the fact they themselves (people) have not much knowledge and understanding to gauge these things.
^ Narrated Ibn Abbas: WhenUmar was placed on his deathbed, the people gathered around him, invoked Allah, and prayed for him before the body was taken away, and I was among them. Suddenly I felt somebody taking hold of my shoulder and saw that it was*`Ali ibn Abi Talib.* Ali invoked Allah's Mercy forUmar and said: *"O `Umar! You have not left behind you a person whose deeds I like to imitate more than yours, nor would I more prefer to meet Allah with other than your deeds. * By Allah! I always thought that Allah would keep you with your two companions, for very often I used to hear the Prophet saying: *I, Abu Bakr and Umar went somewhere; I, Abu Bakr andUmar entered someplace; and I, Abu Bakr and `Umar went out." * - Sahih Al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim.
Keep in mind the Hazrat Ibn Abbas was Hazrat Ali's cousin.

I dont see anything wrong in reading the Bible.I mean there is no harm in learning about another religion.
Muhammad Ibn al-Alâ' told us that Ibn Numayr reported from Mujâlid from Ibn Aamir from Jaabir that Umar Ibn al-Khattâb brought a copy of the Torah to the Prophet (Pbuh) and said: "O Apostle of God, this is a copy of the Torah." But [the Prophet] kept silent. Then Umar started reading and the face of the Prophet kept changing. So, Abu Bakr interrupted him violently: "Don't you see the face of the Prophet (Pbuh)?"
Umar looked at the Prophet's face and said "May God preserve me from His anger and from the anger of his Apostle (Pbuh), we accepted God as Lord and Islâm as religion and Muhammad as prophet." Then the Prophet(Pbuh) said: *"By the One Who owns Muhammad's soul, if Moses (Pbuh) appeared to you and you followed him and left me, you would go astray from the right path and if he were alive and reached [the time of] my prophet hood he would have followed me. " * Sunan ad-Dârimi.
There is no benefit for you in reading the Bible unless you are doing some scholarly research. So it’s advisable for you to read the Quran instead.

Can you just summarize what that moulana said? It's long.
If he is a typical Shia 'Moulana' then, it's depressing. It's the worst case of cursing on Hazrat Umar (ra) I ever heard. It’s profanity upon profanity. How easy it is for this type of people to forget all the Qurannic ayahs in favour of the Sahabah (raa). Hazrat Umar (ra) was the foremost among the Sahabah (raa). May Allah (swt) return the curses spewed out back on him (the speaker).

Everything.
If somebody wants to ask you why you're a Muslim , you want to be able to answer that question. If they find out that you dont know * a thing* about another religion ,they'll just say that you dont know what you're missing.
They'll ask us how we can be Muslims when we dont know what another religon has to offer. And in order to prove certain aspects of our religion we have to know about other faiths.
Thanks Sheraz CT ![]()

This is how they fabricated their books. It is suggested that participants should make a backup copy of their post; nobody can tell when their posts will be removed from the threads.
Pathetic!
What? You mean that Christians should not want to read Quran, or attend a Khutba? Imperialistic???
