However Capitalist thinking is about expansion. Not only having money, but keeping all avenues of wealth: Money, Gold, Stocks, Property, Bonds, etc. Top invest and demand increasing returns till infinity.
With this system, you ofcourse have immense economic collapses every now and then; only to give you a fresh start again.
As Desis, we enjoy showing off. Its part of our heritage. Will we ever be Capitalists? We already are. However our systems are not refined. Our rulers have corrupt and questionable laws implemented against us so they can benefit at our expense.
Trust me, there is too much Potential Energy in China, India, Pakistan, Thailand, etc that we can unleash but we dont.
Socialism brought India nothing but higher populations and stretched income. Bits of welfare is great, but no Nation should make welfare its top priority. You should only have roughly 15-20% welfare max, or there is something immensely wrong with you. Even 20% is too ugly.
