We know it exists but we often don’t hear of the many people who are non-Muslims standing up against it. It also affects brown people who are not Muslims as well. I don’t know if you guys have seen this social experiments. Both were filmed after sensitive events. You might find it touching that ordinary citizens or even soldiers speak out against racist comments.
These 2 social experiments had actors saying racist comments and a hidden camera to see how people would respond. People at the scene all looked shocked and disgusted by the comments.
Re: Is there lot of Islamophobia in the US and Canada?
I didn’t make that claim though did I? I clearly said islamaphobia exists and it affects even Sikhs and Hindus who have the same brown skin. I was just showing that people like this also exist and are in majority. I thought it was an uplifting video and found it worth sharing. It’s not all non muslim countries though is it? Let’s also not forget that these non muslim countries give us refuge when we run from trouble like junaid jamshed. They take in more muslim refugees than many muslim countries. Sometimes it is also good to see the positives of these countries. Both of these social experiments occurred after sensitive events like that shooting in Canada.
If a majority person was attacked by a minority person in India or Pakistan the
sense of retribution would be higher. A community gets judged on actions of individual. Nothing wrong in learning from the positives of others. We can also look at the other side can’t we? What of the sufferings of Christians in Pakistan and India? Why is it important to sign a declaration against ahmadis to get a passport in Pakistan? Which muslim country did they invade? Are Pakistani Christians to blame for actions of the West? What of shias in Malaysia who are not even recognised or discrimination against Sunnis in Iran?
Why did junaid jamshed go to London not uae in order to escape blasphemy? Why Saudi Arabia and uae don’t have equal citizenship for Pakistanis and Indians? Shouldn’t they give equal rights to Pakistani and Indian Muslims who are citizens of the ummah? Why does Saudi Arabia ban Saudi men from marrying Pakistani women? Why are the majority of countries that offer visa free entry to Pakistanis non muslim including Nepal?
Re: Is there lot of Islamophobia in the US and Canada?
True Shak. Sometimes people who have not visited those countries or don’t have contacts there may confuse the two so that is why I found this video uplifting and worth posting.
Re: Is there lot of Islamophobia in the US and Canada?
are tangents normal or circumstantial? Straight lines which are not tangents to a curve are found in more abundance. The shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line.
Re: Is there lot of Islamophobia in the US and Canada?
Oh come on hareem
I am merely replying to your comments. Not an argument at all. To summarise for you-i never claimed islamaphobia does not exist in these countries but it seems majority are not. Minorities suffer at hands of majority in many countries and I gave examples of Christians in subcontinent, ahmadis in Pakistan, Shia in Malaysia and Sunnis in Iran. There is no reason for this I can think of. Some people might hold Pakistani Christians responsible for events in west but that is not reasonable.
Also speaking of muslim and non muslim doesn’t always work as some muslim countries like uae give suffering to indian/Pakistani labourers. They are treated like bonded slaves. They go there out of necessity for their families. Woh bhi insaan hai.
Re: Is there lot of Islamophobia in the US and Canada?
Certain amount of prejudice is everywhere…did we all forget the open execution of the Christian couple recently in Pakistan?
But if you ask me specifically…I haven’t experienced Islamophobia in the US. My dad does speak of a time when diversity wasn’t so big here and he encountered racism…but that was about 40 years ago.
