i dont know....but there is a way to know yr ip if u log on to someones site....nobody needs yr email for it

First tell me is it an email you received on a web bases email? like Hotmail? Gmail? or you received it thru a POP account?
In both cases it is possible.
You have to check the header of the email you received.
For POP email in like Outlook or Outlook Express:
Open the message and then from the menu at the top select:
[thumb=H]message1689_7095532.JPG[/thumb]
^-- that will open a new window, showing you the header of the email, and the path it followed to get to you + you will see the IP address between all those lines.
Also for web based email its possible mostly. For Hotmail:
Go to "OPTONS"
Then select "DISPLAY SETTINGS"
For message headers: choose "Advanced"
