Re: Is there anyone who has passed the GAT (GENERAL) Test of NTS for MS.
I passed it last year. I prepared from the GAT test guide (you can get the book from any nearest book store). You can also study from the GRE helping books. The test comprises of three parts; Verbal (English language), Quantitative and Analytical. The distribution of marks for these three parts depends on the category for your study.
Verbal ability is mostly easy with comprehensions, synonyms, choosing the appropriate words, meanings etc.
Quantitative ability is all mathematics from geometry to algebra to simple calculations like division. You need to have the basic understanding of these concepts. Its very simple but needs a lot of consideration. When you see the question it seems like there will be alot of calculation to reach the answer but actually just a lil multiply add and subtract gets it done. Its all about focus in this part.
Analytical ability is actually a tricky one. Its all about logic! Scenarios are given and then some twists are made in each question related to a scenario, mostly questions are about who comes first? who is last? who comes after who? What ends the scenario? etc. You need to test and try every possibility of a particular scenario, then apply the rules given and check which one fits best. Needs a huge level of concentration.
The suggestion I would give you from my personal experience is, don’t waste time on questions that are taking you more than 40-50 secs. Leave them and move on to the next question. At the end, go through the questions again one by one to solve those that are left. The key is to manage the time well. You lose track of time and your’e doomed. Best of luck!
