Someone has told me that a nikaah should not be performed between Asr and Maghrib prayers. Is this true?? I don’t think so as when I googled it said after Asr on Jumaah is actually the best time.
But are there any other times when a nikaah shouldn’t be performed? Is it ok to do it just before a prayer is due? What is the preferred time?
Re: Is there any time of day when nikaah is prohibited?
Not sure if there is a prohibited time but i think the best way to go is after a prayer time so it allows everyone to perform their prayer and then sit down and listen to the nikkah.. having it just before a prayer time may cause a delay in prayer which is disliked
Re: Is there any time of day when nikaah is prohibited?
nikaah is NOT forbidden at any time of the day or night but one should avoid zawaal times [midway time between sunset and sunrise AND midway time between sunrise and sunset]. zawaal is observed 5 minutes either side of the exact zawaal time...i.e. 10 minutes in total each for midday and midnight]

Your deeds are collected daily between Asr & Maghrib, which is why it is a sacred time to make dua. I would think this makes it a good time for a nikah, as well.
