Is there any SMART possible solution exist for?

I want a fixed URL such as www.google.com/pakistan , and then instead of highlighting the entire area I just want to highlight Pakistan part (so I can change it with Canada, US, UK, etc etc).

I have countless links to test…~2000….and every link testing involves few extra highlighting clicks which is making the entire task very frustrating.

Kindly someone please HELP!

for what purpose?

Re: Is there any SMART possible solution exist for?

do you have an index of the country names? this may not be the optimal solution, but I’m wondering whether putting the list in Excel along with using concatenate and hyperlink functions may make your job a little easier.

Re: Is there any SMART possible solution exist for?

If you are doing this with HTML support u can just link the Pakistan part and not include the rest in the “a href” tag.

I am not sure if I understood the issue properly, but you can create all those links in Word document, using cut&paste, find & replace options. Once you have that list, paste maybe 10 links at a time in Firefox bookmark folder, open organize bookmark, right click on Bookmark menu and say - open all in tabs. That will open 10 bookmarks in 10 diff tabs.

This way you dont have to type each url, one at a time and can work in batches.

in my opinion, you can write some dynamic link in asp.net and inlude all countries in database or excel sheet and then run loop and replace country part in link with each iteration, and obviously you are reading data from excel sheet or database.

Re: Is there any SMART possible solution exist for?

I actually did that…but i was looking for a much smoother and smarter way. may be there is some plug-in on chrome or FF.
i actually have to go through ~2000-4000 links and verify how many of them exist.

if i bookmark the main page and then add the rest of the URL…it will drastically affect the main page’s traffic statistics. so its a not smart and viable option.

Re: Is there any SMART possible solution exist for?

You could copy the base link into the clipboard, then paste it infront of every country. ie make the word file with complete links. It would mean no hilighting instead click or use arrow keys down and ctrl+left then ctrl-p, repeatedly, until you have made your 2000 links in a word doc. Then save the word doc as HTML and open it in IE or FF and click away at the links.

Another way would be to get someone to code you some PHP, where you enter the base address and it takes a .txt file with list of countries and creates and opens each link as you want in turn.

Re: Is there any SMART possible solution exist for?

If that’s the specific and only scope of your task, then all you need is a tool to formulate a list of URLs (you can do this in Excel easily if needed), and then plug the list into a web crawler that checks for broken links. For example, check the URL Status Checker tool by http://tools.citationlabs.com
