I actually swear by this, everyone in my family has glasses but me. I’ve been wearing “surma” forever. Not the fake commercial kind, but the real one made from the powdered stone and stuff. The surma that is Sunnah. I’ve been wearing that instead of eyeliner since i was 12, never needed glasses ever. Also, carrorts, they work wonders on your eyes

I’ve never wore surma and I’ve never needed glasses so I swear by not wearing it.

Back in the real world, no there’s not much you can do really. Laser eye treatment is your best bet.

I’ve never wore surma and I’ve never needed glasses so I swear by not wearing it.

Back in the real world, no there’s not much you can do really. Laser eye treatment is your best bet.

-__- It’s sunnat. You choosing not to wear it is what you do. Don’t make it sound like it doesn’t actually work. I’ve been wearing it since i was 12. I stopped for a couple of years in between and my eye sight dropped just a bit. I went back to surma and to date haven’t needed glasses. Besides, there’s no harm in wearing it, even if it is just to look pretty.

Plus, “in the real world” having a good diet helps with eye sight as well as i stated earlier. You can google its authenticity instead of suggesting surgery to people straight off the bat.

The one i use now is called “hashmi surma special” but this is all i can find in Dubai now. The one i used to use earlier was better. Used to come in a silver bottle, can’t remember the name, sorry

I use the authentic surma too. It’s pricier, but it looks better that the commercial stuff. The stone itself is beautiful too; it’s cooked before it is powdered and sometimes crushed olive seeds and other herbs may be added to it that are supposedly good for the lashes as well.

My point is that yours is anecdotal evidence as is yours, i.e you probably didn’t need glasses anyway whether you wore surma or not.

And a good diet won’t bring back eyesight that’s already bad. It will help maintain a good eyesight but if you’ve already become very short sighted as in the OP, you could eat 30 carrots a day and it won’t help.
