Is there a water substitute?

Just one of my weird questions.

Re: Is there a water substitute?

Not really...other drinks will either dehydrate you more or they will contain sugars or fruit acids in them. So, pure water provides the best hydration...other drinks can hydrate you but not as much as water.

Re: Is there a water substitute?

Yes........kala pani......(aka Pepsi).

^Actually, the above is dehydrating. But more seriously....you don't necessarily have to drink water to hydrate yourself. Many foods already contain water and hence play a role in fulfilling that requirement.

Re: Is there a water substitute?

your own sweat :hmmm:

Re: Is there a water substitute?

"Water is always the best way to hydrate and avoid empty calories, but if you think it’s too blah and it’s just not doing it for you, you can always spruce it up.

You have endless ways to make your very own concoction. Jazz up your water by adding some citrus, a slice or two of lemon or lime or a squeeze of orange can help make water more palatable. Give flavored seltzer a try; it’s got the fizz of a soda without all the calories. Or make your own spritzer by adding a splash of juice to plain seltzer. If none of these tricks work, try some watered-down juice, using more water than juice. Don’t give up on water just yet!"

Re: Is there a water substitute?

What about juice?

Niksik, thanks for the not-so-pleasant-image

Re: Is there a water substitute?

I think what CM said pretty much summed it up!

Shak juices do indeed hydrate and if its 100% juice and not beverage than you are also getting other nutrients but like mentioned earlier water is the only non caloric drink as far as I know!
