apart from having the best quality heroine black money can buy, and quite possibly extremely high achievements in governmental corruption, and most certainly the best lassi in the world, is there a single other thing that pakistan excells in, or are we essentially just a bunch of losers.
Dunno.. may be Atomic Bomb.... who knows....
millions of Quranic Huffaz....
Islamic Scholars like Dr. Israr Ahmad, (Late) Muhammad Yousaf Ludhyaanvi and Maulana Modoodi.... and etc. etc.....
**Sitaaron Pay Jo Daltay Hain Kamand!**
Shaheen=An Eagle or A Flacon!
How come people come up with the idea that Shaheen is a "gal"????
Forget Pakistan, its a big country. Lets concentrate on you:
What have you accomplished or you have done for others that you can be proud of?
We will make atomic bomb, even if we have to eat grass!!! Remember that statment from Bhutto? Pakistan people are proud of their courage and determination. Corruption or no corruption we are 10 steps ahead of our opponents, when it comes to defending our homeland.
You can go dig the heroin and the bad side of the country, I think every country has that problem not just Pakistan.

10 steps ahead of your opponents? who are your opponents exactly? the indian womens soccer team? i think youve got your head stuck in the sand old bean
Pakistan is the fort of Islam. Already, Pakistan was the key player in breaking up ussr. If there was no Pakistan, india and russia together would have not only taken over the muslims of russian states like azerbaijan etc. but also the muslims of Pakistan, afghanistan and probably iran and other muslim countries. Pakistan has saved the entire muslim umma from this true nightmare.
But ourr true test will come now against the hindutvas now. Its time to send them where they belong. a little place called hell. and you are damn right we have got all the means to send them there.
There is actually a lot. What we had at the time of independence nothing look at it today. Pakistan was world champion in four different sports at the same time which is enough to be proud of.
Pakistan is proud of people like Abdul Satar Edhi and many like him. We are proud of our sportsmen specially cricketers Squash players and hockey stars.
We have the biggest free private cancer hospital that we all actually build together.
There is a lot more though I am not proud of the atomic bomb.
Yes there are difficulties but we will find a way hopefully very soon.
Sports gear, surgical instrument, leather products - Best known around the world (tell me who else in this whole damn world makes those weight lifting belts???) :D
Atomic bomb?? Are we the best? haha i think we are atleast 50 years behind in this technology!.
Our army is the best trained army, specially SSG (the best trained people in the world)

I'm from pakistan :)
Well that is a totally different case!
4 pakistani boxers who participated in olympics (Sydney) never went back ! (now those boxers will be either working at 7-11 or driving a cab)
this is a disgust that we have to suffer, it is a reality that we are known as terrorist, and fundamentalists and much more.
My friends wife while telling me about thier customs told me that she was specifically told never ever to fall in love, or marry a pakistani.
Why this is happening?? Well we have to think about it, but how can we think we are one of those losers aren't we?? We left pakistan, or maybe for some of you your parents "escaped" now who are we to decide these things?
There is not a single pakistani, at this very moment, in pakistan whom you give money and visa and he won't leave pakistan.
Do you disagree?
There are both good and bad sides to every scene. Good side, Pakistan has a lot of potential. In terms of knowledge, in terms of art, in terms of natural beauty, resources. Bad side, residents and government, who are totally unaware of how to put all the resources to good use and bring about overall prosperity to the country itself and its people as well.
If Pakistan has been unable to get far in the 53 years since it's independence, its because of the people who call it a home. They don't have a grasp of direction and no patriotism whatsoever. Nor are they aware of their potential.
"Ask not what the country can do for you, ask what you can do for the country."
Country in itself is nothing but land, it's the people who make a country, a country. It's the people who bring recognition and pride for their homeland world wide. And also it's people who bring a bad name as well.
Pakistanis can be proud of everything about our country. The areas where we have not done well we can work on them, but there is no need to mourn about our failures. Every nation has it’s share of problems, we are not unique.
Given that Pakistan is relatively a new nation (although our history is as old as any other ancient civilization, e.g., Mesopotamian, Athenian, etc.) we have accomplished more than many other newly independent nations.
Here are some accomplishments that should make us proud:
A relatively self-reliant economy. Compare that to any other newly independent country (particularly those of Eastern Europe). If we do import a lot of raw material for our industrial agricultural sector, we equally export a lot of raw material. Most other new states depend heavily on foreign capital to show sustenance. We have very little “foreign” capital invested (in per capita terms) in Pakistan. Take the FI out of some new countries and see what happens.
-An improving communications infrastructure that matches many other countries, in terms of Phones per 100’s of populace, TVs per hundreds…etc. Get the latest figures from the WB 2000 report. I am not sure if it is on the Web.
-Well trained Armed Forces with fairly modern warfare to keep our borders safe. (Although they should not be running civilians affairs).
-An increasing middle class. Although we are still behind India and many other LDCs, but most recent data indicate that there is a rise in the Middle Class, which is attributed to lot of Pakistanis returning from the Arab Gulf region. One can see newly sprawling modern housing projects spurring up in all mid-sized towns and metropolitan areas.
Our handicraft and carpet industry.
Our Public Healthcare system. Compare that to some other LDCs. We fare a lot better.
Our Educational System. Needs improvement, but it is of an acceptable standard and Pakistanis make the best out of whatever means are available.
There are millions of other areas that we should feel proud of. This ashamed, mortified, and self-effacing attitude is what we should be ashamed of.

I agree with you. I don't origionally belong to pakistan. I was born and raised in Canada. Anyhow, I recently went to visit and what you are saying is so true. Some of the people I talked were literally scared to raise thier children in Pakistan. I realize life there is quite different from the westurn lifestyle. In reagrds what you said, well, what is Pakistan doing for its people??? If you can can give an answer, great! but honestly when you own country is bringing you down, would you not leave???
