Would you encourage your child to learn Hindi? Is there a economic asset in learning Hindi?
Even Indians speak English.
If Indians think Hindi is so important than India needs to first teach it to Indians themselves, like southerners.
In US many High Schools are now offering Hindi as a subject. There is also a course on “India Studies” which teaches about Indiam culture, economy and outsourcing.
Even Singapore wants Singaporeans to learn Hindi.

There has been a growing interest in learning the Hindi language among non-Hindi speaking people in Singapore.
Education Minister and Second Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen made this observation at the celebration of Hindi Centres Day.
While some are drawn to Hindi pop culture, he said many recognise that Hindi is an economic asset, especially with the rise of India.
Dr Ng said four more schools have joined the Parallel Hindi Programme offered by the Hindi Society, bringing the total number of schools offering Hindi classes to 53.
And to further encourage students to use the language, the Hindi Society has also started a number of initiatives, which include reading programmes, literary festivals and other creative language activities.
Dr Ng also commended the Hindi Society for their effort in enabling Singapore students to study the language.
Recognising the important role of mother tongue language in preparing Singapore’s young for the future, Dr Ng said the Ministry has also been providing greater support to the teaching and learning of five non-Tamil Indian Languages (NTILs) - Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi.
The ministry provides funding support of close to S$1.5 million annually to such groups (NTILs) to help defray part of the cost of providing instruction.

Why don't you make up your mind? Do you want to discuss about teaching Hindi, or about teaching Indian culture/economy/outsourcing?
Like I said, if Hindi is so important than why don't Indians learn it first?!
And I don't see a reason to ask this question in a Pakistani forum. Trade between India and Pakistan is almost non-existent. So where is the economic case here?
Besides, Hindi and Urdu are akin to each other, and most Indians can understand Urdu good enough.
Re: Is there a economic asset in learning Hindi?
There is no such language as Hindi, Its Urdu contaminated with some Sanskrit words which they call hindi.
Also your post is kind of a paradox. Indians dont speak their own language, just tune to some indian TV channel and see how much of it is English and Hindi.

One can say the same thing about Urdu. Every language evolves from diff languages, that does not mean that the language does not exist.

when I say something and somebody else says something, there is a huge difference.
What I say is correct and pathar py lakeer, what others say is useless jibberish.
