Re: Is there a cure for corruption?
First of all we have to figure out the root cause of corruption, when it started happening & reasons? When I was analysing I found some reasons
1) Satisfaction: In Pakistan no one is satisfied, a person who is earning 7000 or 70,000 all are complaining.
2) Accountability: No accountability system, & if there is one they themselves are corrupt because they are part of big corrupt system.
3) Education: Out statistics show 47% literacy rate, that an other example of corruption, I dont think apart from big cities anyone is literate at all, my rough idea is still around 25%. We all know the reasons of people not being educated in PK, so I wont go into that detail.
4) Blames: Other things I have realised that in Pakistan people never accept responsibility, they always blame others but no one does a good part. So do need to tell people to take responsibilities & act rather than others to act beofre them.
5) State Efforts:
Actually if we see closely we realise that the some of above points are implemented by the State but in Pakistan there is no such thing. State mentioned Rs.3600 as minimum salary, I ask that Finance minister to show me how can he spend one week in Rs.3600 happily in Pakistan. If a mechanic is earning 3600 per month of course he will take his 5 years old child with him to make more money because in his books his child will be expert mechanic by 15 & make same money. Sending him to school means low income plus paying school fee is "Ghaatay ka sauda for them".
State opens a school but local Feudal Lord or Zimindar makes sure that no one goes to school, that must be changed.
State should first provide all the facilities to citizens with full adherence of accountability system i.e. to check whats happening at each step. Not like Anti Corruption who go to arrest for bribe & the officer who is taking bribe shares his bribe with Anti Corruption officer & both end up happy & the petitioner eventaully pays more bribe.
But a million Dollar question: Who will do all that? Since we are all corrupt or people with dead conscience anyway.
