Hey guys, thanks so much for the feedback. Due to my schedule I end up doing cardio (35-45 mins of high intensity atleast 5 times a week) after strength training, and its not heavy weightlifting - more reps/ low weights. Actually cardio is also mixed with the strength training. I need advice on diet in order to raise my weightloss as much as possible in conjuntion with exercise i am doing. I have replaced 2 meals with a protein shake (lunch and dinner) and for breakfast I have fruit (I guess my carbs come from this). Between lunch and dinner i snack on a small salad, string cheese,sprouts or a small serving of grilled chicken. Ive cut out breads, rice, rotis etc and I drink atleast 2-3 liters of water a day. I have done this for a month now and my only indulgence is coffee with cream and sugar - i know i need to drop that habit. I have only seen a difference of 2 lbs weight loss and i guess the positive is 3.5 inches off my waist, 2 off chest, 1.5 off arms,thighs and calves. I also take vitamins and omega supplements daily.

Actually sweet heart ur suppose to lift first and cardio later...bc that way u'll lose ur body fat in the long run and burn more calories...they more muscle u gain the faster ur metabolism will become...

Building muscle is good...u almost seemed scared of it like its a sin...

Weight lifting should help you. Also take care of calorie intakes per day. And watch out for amount of fat in your food.

Whey protein is best to gain the muscles...
But we should use certain amount amount of the whey protein because the excessive amount of whey protein is dangerous for health..

I think it can harm kidneys later on, from what I heard...Ill have to look into it tho.

Excessive protein is converted to fat (amino groups are removed in the form urea through urine).

If you aren't losing weight even after all of that, then you probably aren't controlling your diet & workouts very well. You cannot turn fat in to protein (whoever said that). Also, the growth of muscle depends on the increase in insulin concentration in the blood which in itself hinders the fat-burning process, so technically, you cannot gain muscle and lose weight at the same time. Either build muscle first (eat carbs, put on more weight temporarily) then switch your diet & exercise to fat-burning, or stop trying to build muscle and burn fat first. You seem to be trying to do both at once, which does not work very well as you can already see. Protein shakes won't help you lose weight, and as you mentioned that you aren't doing heavy lifting, it seems as if most of the protein intake is in excess (and turning to fat).

The best fat-burning exercise that you can do is boxing on a heavy bag for at least one hour, 5 times a week. Boxing, unlike weightlifting and running, uses both aerobic and anaerobic respiration (you don't get tired for a long time, even if it is your first time) and you can feel the energy expenditure in the form of heat inclination and sweat produced. 1 pound of fat is roughly composed of ~3500 calories. 1 hour of proper boxing (on a bag) will expend 550 calories. The exercise forms great muscle definition around the upper-body and uses a **** load of different muscle groups. For example, just throwing a (proper) punch alone requires input from the abs & obliques. I eat "fat"-filled foods sometimes and I burn them off by punching a bag for few hours. In the end, my body fat percentage remains constant. Just remember that an average 25yo male who lives a sedentary life with little-to-none physical activity burns ~2100 calories a day just by his normal metabolic processes. Calculate your daily caloric-expenditure, add it to 2100, and then make sure the total is MORE than what you are consuming through food (caloric-intake). Thats the only way to lose weight by diet alone.
