Yes. That is true. Men will be there as well, but the majority will be of women.

Re: Is that True??

God sometimes I wish Allah would send the dumb people to hell as well.

Re: Is that True??

Totally agree ratio 1:72 exactly.

Re: Is that True??

It is very much true but not the main reason for the discrepency ...

According to prophet (pbuh) its becuase most of them are ungrateful to Allah and to their husbands

[quote]

It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I was shown Hell and I have never seen anything more terrifying than it. And I saw that the majority of its people are women.” They said, “Why, O Messenger of Allaah?” He said, “Because of their ingratitude (kufr).” It was said, “Are they ungrateful to Allaah?” He said, “They are ungrateful to their companions (husbands) and ungrateful for good treatment. If you are kind to one of them for a lifetime then she sees one (undesirable) thing in you, she will say, ‘I have never had anything good from you.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1052)

Re: Is that True??

Assalam O Aalaikom brother,

How are you? Evidence would be very appreicated with that.

Alright, my time is running out.

Take Care brother,
Allah Hafiz!

Re: Is that True??

Where did that ratio come from

Re: Is that True??

In context, the hadith describes how the Prophet (pbuh) was soliciting alms at an Eid namaz. He talked/admonished the men and collected alms. Then he went in front of the women and did the same, and this is where the above quote was mentioned.

Read in context, it's clearly a case of the Prophet (pbuh) pushing the buttons of the rather proud women to give alms...

As for the 'majority' going to hell....it takes but one person to make a majority...but it's neither the main subject matter of the hadith (although truncated versions make it seem that way), nor really 'actionable' in an honest theological sense.

That the Prophet (pbuh) goes on to list matters that had been made easy for women with regards to their faith, or complaints their husbands had against them is clearly a case of trying to guilt them into giving alms...which they did in the end, btw....

Re: Is that True??

Let me conclude it please. There will be more men than women in Jannah. It does not mean that a man can imagine that he will go to Jannah. Neither a woman.

Jannah is not easy and simple. It has to be earned. Do we think anyone deserve to go? We have to go through lots of struggles to be deserved.

I think it is the ending thread. It is useless to talk about it once we obtained the answer and should start concentrating on our deeds and practicing Islam.

Re: Is that True??

Will the halal animals go to Jannah too ? :hmmm:
Cause I think Jannat is for all makhlooq created by Allah (swt)
If the Halal animals go there - Will they be halalafied again or will they be free to roam as they wish.

Re: Is that True??

Where'd you get that from?

Re: Is that True??

I learnt that it is made for Humans and Jinns only.

Re: Is that True??

Three of the leading so-called Muslims leading the way by ‘enlightened moderation’ to change Islam completely so that the Kuffar can be happy are women…

  1. Asra Nomani - Advocates pre-marital sex, dating and children out of wedlock in Islam…

  2. Amina Wudood - Advocating a system of belief not found in Islam…

  3. Irshad Manji - Advocates a complete overhaul of Islam by laws dictated by humans…

All three enjoy unprecedented media coverage…

Name one so-called Muslim man who is as vocal as these three…

Re: Is that True??

This also is from one of the hadith, that Prophet did see more women, in hell.
I will post that probably when he Ascended to the Heaven or Shab e meraj .
Will try to post it, just busy wit the job

Re: Is that True??

Actually these revolutionary muslim men are not only vocal but they are BLASTIC :soldier: They teach you lesson by tearing your body in 100 pieces :subhan:

:halo:

Funny how Islam emphesise ROLES for obedience …

Disobedient son to a mother -----> fuel for hell
Disobedient wife to husband -----> same fate

I never saw any muslim man complaining about the first condition whatsoever, infact they look at it as a previlage, but not the case with women

Re: Is that True??

Women Outnumbering Men in Hell
The following Hadith is often presented to support the view that women will outnumber men in Hell:
Abu Sa‘id Khudri reported: Allah’s Messenger (sws) went out to the place of worship on the day of ‘Idu’l Adha or Fitr and he passed by the women and said to them: ‘O Women, give charity for I have been shown the majority amongst you as the inmates of Hell’. They said: ‘Allah’s Messenger, wherefore?’ He said: ‘It is because you curse one another very much and show ungratefulness to your husbands’. (Bukhari, No: 298)
This inference is incorrect and has arisen by not properly appreciating a particular style of communication used in certain Ahadith which depict dreams of the Prophet (sws). Such dreams are a source of revelation for the Prophets of Allah and in them they are shown certain images by the Almighty for the purpose of educating Muslim men and women. As a principle, all such dreams are not to be interpreted literally; they contain realities which are depicted in symbolic form.
Symbolic representation is a very subtle and powerful way of expression: Facts seem veiled yet for him who pauses to ponder they are the most evident. They move a person in the manner poetry does. They ignite in a person the spark to look behind the apparent. They urge him to reflect and to meditate and then to discover and to infer. They educate him without rousing his prejudices. The Prophets of Allah (sws) have effectively employed this technique of communication. The words and discourses of the Prophets Joseph (sws) and Jesus (sws) for example are full of powerful parables and subtle symbolism. The dream of the Prophet Joseph (sws) and the way he interpreted it is mentioned in the Qur’an also. If he saw in his dream that the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing before him in prostration, he knew that these heavenly bodies symbolized certain personalities.
The Ahadith which depict more women in Hell should also be interpreted keeping in view this basic principle. These Ahadith do not delineate the population of women in Hell since this would be a literal interpretation; on the contrary, they just caution them that there are certain deeds which they do a lot and which, therefore, would be more instrumental in taking them to Hell; so they should avoid them. In other words, the symbolism is causative in nature. In the above quoted Hadith, the cause has been symbolized to warn women of something which they often do.

Sahih Muslim
Book 036, Number 6596:
Usama b. Zaid reported that Allah’s Messenger (way peace be upon him) said: I stood at the door of Paradise and I found that the overwhelming majority of those who entered therein was that of poor persons and the wealthy persons were detained to get into that. The denizens of Hell were commanded to get into Hell, and I stood upon the door of Fire and the majority amongst them who entered there was that of women.
