when u are a man and lose ur self in wirdh, u do dhamal.
if women were to do it, would it be acceptable?

Re: is sufiism for women?
not all sufis do vird, those who do..not all lose themselves in vird, and not all who lose themselves in vird do dhammal.
you need to read up more about what bein a sufi is all about. looking at the crowd you jjst mentioned, I dont think u will get much.
Re: is sufiism for women?
i agree,
i think virdh and kalam and dhikr should be more peaceful.
whether men or women do so. the common format should be established.
and but still some people may have enough of their own will in how to.

Re: is sufiism for women?
The 5 Pillars of Islam
1- Profession of Faith: Shahada "There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad (S.A.W) is His prophet"
2- Prayer: The Salat
3- Give alms: Zakat
4- Fasting: Sawm, in the month of Ramadan
5- Pilgrimage to Makkah: Hajj
These are the exact duties of an obedient. Not less, not more. Although, deduction in these duties is not possible however, one may do more of the same, at his own will.
Saying more Prayer is not necessary. If you do exactly what you are ordered to, you are fine.
A Muslim must avoid what takes him away from the 5 Pillars of Islam.
Unfortunately, today we find men of Tareeqat as common examples of adding up things in Islam, and they often mark them as mandatory for them which is even more deadly.
If you see any man around who has already taken Bai't from a Pir/Murshid, you will notice that his Murshid has imposed *something *on him. That could be a virdh or any other act. And you will see that his Murshid will be mostly insisting him to do that "imposed duty" despite of his other routine duties as a Muslim.
That's where Tareeqat loses it's meaning.
Take Mast Mast Qalandars for instance. They dance all day long instead of saying Prayers that actually prove their love and obedience to Allah the almighty. I believe that I will not be be asked that how much time did I spend for Dhol and Bhangra each day but how much Prayers did I say? (of course Prayer must be Qai'm and that is another very important topic which I will not talk about here to stick with the current discussion)
It's not just Qalandar, I can tell you my one personal experience with Qadria. I wanted to take Bai't so I looked around for a fine man. Too hard to do but I found one. He keeps long white beard, nice long hair that touch his shoulders, he is a true gentleman but Good Guide for me.
Now what he and his followers are doing from last 10 years is that they do business/jobs during day (I've confirmed that most of them dont go to mosque, even not on Fridays) and turn off lights at 9pm to do virdh in Pir sahab's hujra.
They welcome everyone to take Bai't as long as the new mureed agrees to come for virdh at 9pm rest of his life. They would never advise you to say Prayer and pay Zakat. They will only force you to do virdh, regularly. That's all you will be questioned about.
So when I noticed this funny clause in their agreement of Tareeqat, I stepped back. Because my orders are clear. Not less not more than five pillars of Islam. I consider imposing somethin on myself as a sin. Doing virdh is a great thing but how can I impose it on myself? How can I make it compulsory for rest of my life at same time for same duration? How can I stand a new pillar of Islam? Virdh is merely an example. There are many other things in Tareeqat these days.
I asked them that why is that so important? Pir sahab answered "Hamain hukam huwa hai zikar karnay ka".
Now who ordered him? Even if he got a new order, is that for him only or for everyone who follows him? That's clear cut division of Muslims. That means the orders are different for each muslim. Ghousia have different orders than Chishtia, Naqshbandi have different private orders than Ghousia and Qalandari have orders different from the rest.
Tareeqat today is just about grouping in Muslims.
How simple and organized Islam is today? Wow!
I still want to take Bai't before I die. And now I am finding a senior from common men, who is mostly trying to stick with 5 Pillars of Islam. And who will not enforce something new.
Please remember that Islam is simplest the easiest way to spend your life. Do exactly what you are supposed to do. Dont make things complicated.
So the question is: is sufiism for muslim (where one loses self-control)?
