Is Spirtuality possible without Religiosity?

Is love possible, without attachment {nearness or attraction to actual / physical closeness }?

Shed light.

Re: Is Spirtuality possible without Religiosity?

In my opinion yes spirituality is possible without religion. When you are bound to one religion you have to reject all other possibilities and in this negitivity very few can calm and pace themselves to be spiritual. For example we will find most people to fight over religion than to actually practice it with harmony.
Buddist in this regard is one religion which has less of negative in it.
Atcually God without religion is a good read on this topic.

Re: Is Spirtuality possible without Religiosity?

Religion isn't a univocal term, It means different things when we look at different religions. If Hinduism its just like a culture, If Budhism, its quite Godless. The probably common sense of religions is that they all need some sorts of faith. i.e. un-supported belief.

On the other side spirituality is a sort of search for ultimate, which should happen independently of believing in any religion.

Actually when you believe in some religion then there isn't any need for search, i.e. if you are not commiting faith then you can go on to search for ultimate.

To love nearness is must. Since its a builtin system in humans, anyone you love, you want to be closest possible. Take kids for example a 3/4yr old, we all like to hug, kiss, talk, be nearer and all.
BUT you see these physical aspects when applied to adults things changes drastically.

What I think, humans by nature have clean mind, and as a believer I know its the bloody satan which comes to us from the front and the behind and from left and from right, and he whispers into our ears before us.

cheers!

Re: Is Spirtuality possible without Religiosity?

Taking on what bebo and words said, sprituality is not possible without believing in God. However, sprituality takes one away from religion. For spritualist, religion actually restricts the powers of God.

Re: Is Spirtuality possible without Religiosity?

spirituality is essential for love as well :)

Re: Is Spirtuality possible without Religiosity?

excellent and then the equivocation of the reciprocity in love, is so phenomenally important.

also, with adults andbeing sexual beings, humans need to follow ethics and control the sense of instinctuality.

well said!

best,
