- Is sperm donation right or wrong?

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

There is problem with adoption about "warasat". Why not to mary with a widow with a kid, which is quite legal.

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

there is no issue on warasat with adoption. all you need to do is have the other parties give up their right to your estate.

It would pose a problem in case yoru siblings and other family members are greedy ppl who will put a cut in your estate over the wellbeing of your adopted child.

but yeah I know of such a case, little girl was adopted, her parents died in some accident, and then the father's siblings took over his house and basically sent her packing to an orphanage. I dont recall the details but someone close to the deceased parents then took in that girl because to them it was their dead freinds child. This is not an urban legend because I have met those parents and they were friends with my sister.

anyways, yes there are issues and yes there are challenges. None of them are unsurpassable. If someone really wants to adopt, they will fid a way, otherwise many reasons can be given. between the two extremes of 1-"i want to adopt', and 2- 'I dont want to adopt'. There is a 3- 'I cant adopt' group which can not for personal, family or community reasons.

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

and how does that sort out the warasat???

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

point taken. I think I was typing my post when you typed that and since my post got us on page 2, I did not even see that post.

I stand corrected. thank you for that. my posts after that were unwarranted and I am editing all of them now.

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

It's usually the rich folks who suffer from infertility, whereas the poor ones are quite fecund. Ironical, isn't it?

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

wrong!!!!!! remember the world is a very small place, if someone donates sperm especially within a city where it is likely to be used...u can end up in a relationship with a sibling u didnt even knw of..or son/daugher, no matter how far fetched this idea, there is still a possibility!

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

I have read that it isn't allowed.

^It should be allowed , in long distance relationships. hmmm

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

like—in a phone conversation

muunnhhhhhhh
munnhhhhhhhhh
I luv u
I luv u too

honey, Expect a pack in DHL tommorow. :omg:

Between a husband or wife or anyone in general?

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

It is not allowed. We as human beings with our limited knowledge and wisdome should not/cannot say what should and shouldn't be.

off course between nakah-i-fied ppl.

Its was a joke, I have seen artificial insemination in animals(we have tons of animals). It ain't pretty.

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

For all those who say it shouldn't be allowed - are SO SO SO WRONG!

Why can't we get over the fact that RELIGION and TECHNOLOGY are TWO different things!

Don't you think RELIGIOUS people will THANK GOD for technology ? for giving them hope? for allowing them to see dreams? For changing their lives to full COMPLETENESS?

Don't you think GOD will be the one WORSHIPED even though technology assisted.

Don't you think there are emotional attachments and adoption might not be so comforting to some?

Why is there a need to justify MODERN TECHNOLOGY to the life style of the cave men?

Don't you think the CAVE MEN because of the HARDSHIP INVENTED things! Those inventions has LEAD to TODAY and we are still inventing thing.

Don't you think if the cave men themselves NEVER looked out of the cave today we would still be wearing flingstons's costumes and driving the yappa dapppa dooooo??????????

I have always like the Flingstones but I feel the Jetson's accomplished a lot from their cavemen lifestyle!

GO JETSON'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Flingstone's and Jetson's are cartoon characters I grew up with. Jetson being absolute modern inventions, Flingstone's the opposite).

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

^Well in that case the father is basically absolved of his responsibility towards the offspring. Is that fair?

Technology does not do things by itself, its driven by human needs and hence is bound by laws.

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

NJMasti, I am offended by your ignorance. Its FlinTstones, not FlinGstones :emmy:

What father are you talking about?

There is NO father in this sperm donation!

Many woman go for DONATED SPERM because they have NOT MET a person WHO can be CALLED a FATHER to their children.

Ye just pass on the SPERM and keep the rest of YOU to YOURSELF!

No one needs a man anymore! :naraz:

LOL

haawawww is it really?

I always called them what I did!

I’ll check out the T next time I come across it! LOL It would be ODD to call them with the T and not the GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

hahahaahaaa

well in many countries this privacy has been revoked by law, and father records are still kept if the child want to know his/her biological father. since then many people stopped donating sperms.

on the topic, I guess a new technique with stem cells will remove the need of sperm donor, a healthy sperms can be grown from the mothers stem cells. I guess that will be more acceptable as there will be no need of donated sperms or eggs in that scenario. on the wrong side, there will be no need of men any more!!!

in most islamic school of thoughts, donation of any organ without the requirement of life saving or research is not allowed as human body should be protected.

and in child birth, child has to be biological child of the father and mother. good option is adoption. I know a very nice and very well off couple from my friends, they are and have been trying so long, they have adopted 2 cute girls, one is orphan from last earthquake. mashallah they all are happy family.

Re: - Is sperm donation right or wrong?

I would hate to be the child of a random sperm donor, not even knowing who my father is, its horrible.

...I don't know about other countries, but in USA isn't it that college guys donate so they can just get some cash in return?

I mean, imagine they would be haunted for being responsible for each donation... later on... in that case it was so not worth getting "some" temp cash cause now he would be RAISING the world!

Also, in USA at least (I think I know from The Oprah show) that women never know the real person. The guys name is not reveled unless of course the guy agrees to it. The guy also has no responsibilities of the woman's choices she makes using the donated sperm.
