The support for prohibition for shaving the beard is drawn by Ulema from the ahadeeth where Rasool Allah (sallallaho alaihe wasallam) directed people to grow a beard and shave the mustache so that they were different from the kuffar and mushrekeen.
Rasool Allah (sallallaho alaihe wasallam) himself had a beard. So, the keeping of a beard would definitely fall in th ecategory of a prefered sunnah as he both encouraged people and did it himself.
When we say that shaving is akin to imitating the kuffar and mushrekeen, we find that nowadays we are imitating them in many respects. Clothes, social customs, communication etiquites, etc. As one scholar said in a dars I recently heard a recording of we are today following the sunnah of the west. May Allah guide us in following the Sunnah of Rasool Allah (sallallaho alaihe wasallam).
Rabbeshrah lee sadree; wa yassirlee amree; yafqahoo qaulee.
if shaving is not good for health (How weird!!), then whhy is it ok to shave moustaches?
The best theory would be, it must have been a fashion the muhammed liked, and evrybody else just copied him.
read wot factfinder wrote !

that means kufarz(non-muslims)back then had beards whereas it was the same for muslims so to be different than u kufarz back then and even now we were told to shave mustache !!
how logical is that !

What if the beard has to be shaved for medical reasons. Like when sharpnel from a daisycutter went through the beard and you have to operate?
ewwwwww, hairy men. They should shave their legs, arms and everywhee else while their at it, a BIG turn off.

If you have to grow hair on your face so you don't look like a girl then you've really got problems...
andra…why were u thinking of mens beards? cheeks , undra or whatever?
seems like you are already getting your boys/men right now. so enjoy your gujarati paradise

Well, I am not. If you kinda lift your brain up from your kneecap into your skull, you see I was not the one who started the topic about beards.
On the other hand YOU are the one who started about armpits, and now you mentioned beards as well. If you get further down you are welcome to do so, but don’t do it with me and don’t do it in this thread
.

Spot on brother.
We must restrict religious threads to pure religion. The purpose should be da'awa and islaah. If anybody wants to ask, most welcome. But do not post things that are casual here. There are other places on the site for gupshup.
