IS self doubt...

a good thing? when is it a harmful thing that must be avoided?

share your ideas about this, if you like.

Re: IS self doubt...

sorry...I will get back, I read "it" before "is" and got different impression.

Re: IS self doubt...

Self doubt is good when we should be patient, it is bad when we need to make a decision, it is useful for speaking objectively and very useless when being pragmatic.

Surety can only really be prevalent when the parameters are known. If the parameters are open such as "are we going to heaven or not" then we can not be sure.

Re: IS self doubt...

Self doubt would be a good thing when your decision can impact large number of people, bad when you want to make a decision and can not.

Assurance of the outcome is relative to criterion of your judgement.

Re: IS self doubt...

thanks brother psyah & intelliphant for your perspective on the issue.

it is also true that self doubt could also lead people to depending on others, and never really learning to make own decisions. hence, not taking responsibility for the consequences. what is once subjective can become quite objective for someone else, and what is relative can become general. soemtimes, unpredictability of the situation or near future of an unsure person converges on itself and falls flat on the face of that person who is self doubtful.
sad but true.
so now how do other concerned people prevent that person from falling prey to this predicament?
