Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

straight talk - year round

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

I refuse to concede. I think intention and impact are just as important. For example, when I employ sarcasm with you are you, do I lie or hurt your feelings? Nope! In which I don't believe that it breaks my fast.

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

You just can't admit I was right can you? Tsk tsk....

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

If I admitted you were right, that would almost be like you saying the world was flat instead of round. just to appease me. How likely is that :D

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

LMAO! Using my own words against me. Touche. The difference is that I am right and you fail to admit it.

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

Takes a bow

I believe my job here is done :D

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

Oh no. Your job is to be fair and honest and admit i was right. You brought it to GS thinking I was wrong. See the results? :D

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

If I'm supposed to be fair and honest, then how in the world am I to admit you were right. Don't you see the inherent contradiction?

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

LOL! Fine nobody beats you at being stubborn. :p

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

Awww, takes another bow

And I'd like to think it's not so much being stubborn as having strong convictions for which I'm willing to stand up for!

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

Ok kids, time to get a room.

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

Okay seriously what does everybody say that to me?

And Sehrysh your strong conviction is never to admit I am right. That is being stubborn.

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

Ramadan or not, this was taken from my Ayat of the Day Calender:

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

"O you who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor let some women laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor defame not be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames..."

Surah Al-Hujurat 49-11

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

BOOYAH! I was right!

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

Time to get hitched, even. All of GS is rooting for these two to get married.

Re: Is sarcasm a sin in Ramadan/ramzan?

At it's lowest, sarcasm is mean-spiritedness. That says less about the art of sarcasm and more about the offender's lack of skill. Dry wit isn't kosher? Say it ain't so. As long as you don't make anyone cry, I'm pretty sure God has a sense of humor. Fingers crossed.
