**A wise man once sat in the audience & cracked a joke. All laughed like crazy. After a moment he cracked the same joke again and a little less people laughed this time.He cracked the same joke again & again, when there was no laughter in the crowd, he smiled and said“When u can’t laugh on the same joke again & again, then why do u keep crying over the same thing over and over again.“
**Who cries over and over again and for which reason are where the answer lies.
**1- Who cries over and over. Answer is the one who is unable to learn to get over. Little babies cry over and over on same reason beacuase they have yet to learn.
2- What reason? Maybe the reason fror crying is very strong and a sensitive to the person.
For the most part people do stop cying over and over on the ‘same’ reason.
3- Some people cry over and over on same reason for they consider the matter worth crying over and over and it may bring sawaab.
I do get your point, but think about it if there is some happy occasion and something bad happens, all the happiness just vanish, but if there is some sad occasion and something good (worth of making happy) happens we do get happy but not to full extent, cause we still have some of that sadness with us.
Burst of laughter over a joke is not a manifestation of happiness but a short term pleasure, the ability of a human being to laugh over a joke lies in its novelty, removing which will remove element of pleasure.
We have an innate ability to adapt happiness or incidents of happiness quickly, on the other hand sorrow or perception of loss have many stages, many people are lost between denial and depression and never reach the stage where they can accept it.
quite true, means it is due to our mind state not accepting it we stay trap in it and that’s why its stays with us much longer compared to happiness :k:
It is a battle of happy versus sad event, its perception as well as expression which eventually is observed.
So there are three steps:
1- The event
2- The preception of the event.
3- And the last one is expression of the event.
**All three variables make the result in the form of happiness or sadness.
**Do you see the last two of factors actually depend on the person and first one is merely an event?
**Hence it is up to the person 2/3rd of the time to bring the result.
**
When you say sadness is stronger or longer lasing, then this is very subjective. In your example it really depends on all three factors how strongly, the sad event during happy ocassion would take over; or vice versa.
As for the second factor above, a person who has for any reason happiness of mind will express the happiness outside and a sad person will do the opposite.
There is no generalized rule which can be applied universally when it comes to emotions felt by the people.
Have you not come across people who find sad event funny and happy event sad?
P.S. I notice your previous post had emphasis of repetition (over and over again) and now you are talking about strength or sustenance of the emotions.
first of all i really like the way you explain things :k:
secondly i think sadness is stronger than happiness, now all u said cannot be denied but think about it, if you have a happy moment in the past which you really really enjoyed and is one of your best memory, now when you think about it u do feel little joy the time you recall all that, but right after ur done reviewing it u feel this feeling of sadness (like you wish that moment stayed forever or somehow could repeat it self again the same way)
So happiness does end up in sadness means sadness does take over at the end.
When emotions overcomes to you, you cry over n over on one and same thing. And it is only related to you regardless caused by whom. A person think about him or herself that maybe he or she haven’t given his or her 100% attention, maybe he or she gave his or her full 100% attention thats why. Or when he or she feels a space somewhere inside him or her, than.
Time is the best cure for such things and it will heal on due time
what you mean to say is that there is some kind of regret behind sadness or sadness always give feeling of regret or no matter how good we try we find something to be sad about and that is temporary thing
No. The some kind of ‘regret’ is actually our ‘good wishes for other’ which actually turned into ‘bad wishes for other (as per other person’s thoughts)’ which makes one feel sad or think it is b’coz of him or her.
As a wise person will say getting sad is equal to crying on split milk and wasting of precious moment of life, the best thing to do is face the truth and make changes in your present so we dont feel the same way again,
